iOS 8.4 rear camera freezing

Open your phone, remove the cam from the motherboard,

reconnect the cam onto the motherboard thats all!!

Restart IPhone and it works again!

IM having the same problem but for front cam

seems to me this IS a software issue. I think it's very coincidental that this issue is only happening with iPhones 4 and 5. Maybe now that the new iPhone 6s or 7 whatever is coming out they want everyone to upgrade... It seems very strange that Apple hasn't responded at all to all these complaints #smellsfishy

hold the power button and home screen until the phone turns off by itself, then leave off for 30 sec, turn back on and SOMETIMES this works, the. It messes up again -_-

i'm facing the same problem too.... rear camera black screen,freezing

same problem here, tried everything, deleted last installed apps with camera access, updated all apps with camera access installed prior to this bug, restored settings, but still no solution

Is Apple just ignoring this bug or what?!?

Upgraded to iOS 9, still front Camera issue not fixed. Anyone who's problem is fixed post iOS 9 upgrade?

Just send your iPhone to Apple and they'll fix it...

My phone is not in warranty and they are going to charge huge for no fault of mine. I am sure its a software bug and not hardware issue.

Warranty expired months ago, the camera and the flashlight worked fine before the iOS update...

I woke up this morning to see my front camera completely black and the flashlight not working as well. I closed out all apps and programs in the background, still didn't work. Turned phone off and on, didnt work. Downloaded a camera app, didn't work. I finally held down my home button and power button, waited 30 seconds to turn it back on and I have my camera back!!! I'm sorry some of you can't get your camera back. Hopefully Apple resolves this quickly.

Hola chicos . Les voy a comentar todo lo que hice para solucionar el problema de la cámara . Yo en ios 8.3 no tenia ningun problema hasta que actualice a ios 8.4 .. Pasaron algunas semanas hasta que salio cydia para ios 8.4 .. entonces se me ocurrió instalar el tweak iCleaner Pro y active la opción de " Dependencias sin uso " y a continuación puse a limpiar mi dispositivo .. También instale la app Camera Awesome . Me di cuenta que ya había funcionado la cámara pero desde ese momento no pude instalar ningún tweak hasta hoy . No se si fue suerte mia pero funciono lo que hice .. Ya llevo 2 semanas y sigue funcionando la cámara .

I had the same problem with my girlfriends 5S. She missed the 8.4 update but we did iOS9 and that's when hers started. After some researching, I found the solution (for her phone at least). Remove the phone from the case and gently press down on the camera lens. I pressed around 4-5 times and opened the camera app... VIOLA!
