iOS 8.4 rear camera freezing

Hi everybody,

Is anyone else having this same issue where the iPhone 5S rear camera freezes or does not respond (showing a black screen) on iOS 8.4.

The camera does not work on any of the other apps that uses the camera, such as Instagram, Whatsapp, and even iMessage.

I have tried switching the phone off and on, resetting the phone (hard reset), clean restore to no avail.

If anyone has successfully solved this issue, please do share it with me.

iOS 8.4.1 is out, downloaded and updated. It didn't solve the camera issue.

Has anyone (out of warranty coverage) tried bringing it to an Apple service centre to get it checked?

Just just upgraded to iOS 8.4.1 and just experienced this problem. I thought it was an iOS 8.4.1 issue, but appears it is has been around since 8.4.

MY phone is a iPhone 5 (MD297B/A). 😟 😟 😟

Open your phone, remove the cam from the motherboard,

reconnect the cam onto the motherboard thats all!!

Restart IPhone and it works again!

Upgraded to iOS 9, still front Camera issue not fixed. Anyone who's problem is fixed post iOS 9 upgrade?

My phone is not in warranty and they are going to charge huge for no fault of mine. I am sure its a software bug and not hardware issue.
