I was having the same problem but think I finally found the solution. I am using a Mac to listen to my music, so if using a Windows PC then hit control "B" at the same time to see the file menu. If on a Mac and you aren't seeing the file menu, hit option "b" at the same time to bring it up.

- Under iTunes drop down menu or Edit drop down menu (for Windows PCs) select Preferences > Store Preferences and then uncheck "Automatic Downloads"

This is the only thing that worked for me, hopefully this will work for you! :-)

I had this same problem after my trial subscription ended and I'd gotten the subscription. Kept playing with it and finally stumbled on an easy fix. Simply turned on iCloud Music Library and that resolved my problem completely.

1. Settings->Music->iCloud Music Libray (switch button on = green)

2. It will ask if you want to merge or replace your existing library with the iCloud music library ((I chose merge).

After this simple move both my previously purchased music and music I'd obtained through my Apple Music subscription again worked perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

I have been having a similar problem but not as consistently and across the board as a lot of these issues seem to be.

From home, apple music is great used through iPhone 6, iPad mini, and iPad air, however after a few weeks of no problems whatsoever, using apple music through my work wifi has stopped being possible at all. One in perhaps every 10 songs plays, but the rest come up with an error message "Cannot Open- This Media File Is Not Supported". Beats 1 plays, but anything else is a no go.

I have spoken with the IT department, they have changed nothing their end so must be something from the apple service end.

Anyone else?

I bought over 3000 songs to be ON MY iPHONE, not IN THE CLOUD. How do I get them downloaded ONTO my iPhone so I can play them anywhere, in the car, through a PA or stereo, wherever? I just upgraded from iPhone 4 to 6S. Didn't have an issue with the 4, don't know if it was on " use cellular data". Won't that cost me download data to play from icloud?

So there are no ALL/MY MUSIC boxes on your display ... so I assume you are not an iTunes Match Subscriber and so are just seeing Apples Music streaming service ... Just wondering if it might be a router port issue or perhaps the internet provider is blocking the apple streaming service in some way... I can't think what else it could be?

Does it work over a cellular connection?

not sure if this link will help?

What ports are used for streaming music to airport express over wi-fi?

Sorry, but wrong. The All/My Music only shows up IF you have music by that particular artist in your library. Otherwise the screenshot looks like Wifebrush indicated.

Actually it's not wrong .. I get the view when there are absolutely no tracks from the artist in my local library on my device but there are tracks in my iCloud for which I pay the iTunes Match annual subscription to get access to 24000+ tracks. It saves me holding the tracks in my local Library and taking up space on my iPhone and iPad and iPod.

So my statement is not wrong ... i think you are referring to the iCloud storage online as the library... Whereas I was referring to the library on the device... If you don't subsribe to iTunes Match then yes you will need either to have transferred the track(s) to the device over a cable connection etc. via iTunes or purchased the tracks from the iTunes Store (these don't count towards iTunes Match limit and you can view those anyway without iTunes Match subscription)

Hope that now clarifies things for you... I still do not have any problems at all with my library, or iCloud storage etc. but I do pay for both Apple Music and iTunes Match.

I subscribe to Apple Music, and it plays perfectly on my iPhone and iPad. However, Apple Music stopped playing on iTunes (12.3.1) several weeks ago. When I click on a song, it shows a sound icon next to the song, and the song displays in the display area, but it doesn't play. I have signed out of iTunes and back in, rebooted the computer, and I still have this problem. Especially annoying since I am paying monthly for the service.
