I have just updated my iPad to iOS 8.4. I've set up the new Music app but I seem to have lost all my playlists, songs, albums etc. The only things showing are 'Recently Added' and 'Purchased Music which amount to the same thing. Where is the rest of my music and where are my playlists? I will certainly not be amused if they have all disappeared! I'd be grateful for any help you can give me.

Yes, this was something i did too, and it worked. Look, you just go to settings, then music, then turn off music library, (a confirmation will be requested automatically, you must allow it) and then turn it on back again. This problem, as i´ve learned recently is due to an incomplete download of iOS 8.4. Another way, would be to reset the whole phone back again, so iOS 8.4 reloads again fully. But the first way should be enough. Good Luck!

Well, after spending several hours combing the Internet and this forum, it appears that the loss of playlists is a very common problem with the new updates of iTunes and iOS 8.4. Along with this there's a fine array of solutions drifting around. Having tried several of them, including those in this thread, I seem to have finally cracked it! I honestly can't work out how but I have made a note of the settings shown on my iPad as follows:
Music - iCloud Music Library is ON
Music - Show Apple Music ON
In the Music app - Music Available Offline ON
iTunes on PC - Edit, Prefrences, General, Show Apple Music TICK ON
I don't know whether this information is useful or not, but I hope it is. Anyway thanks to all who posted with their advice. This shouldn't have been an issue if the software had been tested properly in the first place. Let's hope the next update doesn't cause more unnecessary issues!
