I'm not sure why Apple verified this as it does not reflect its security practices at all. To the contrary, Apple allows anyone to add someone else's closed credit card to their account and make thousands in purchases, even for in store pick up by appointing themself as the 3rd party. Even worse, Apple allows the unauthorized purchaser to add items in store to the credit card, with a completely different name, Apple ID, phone number and address and bills the cardholder for those purchases too.

I can post my credit card support document if this sounds crazy, but it is unfortunately all true.

1. You did not post the link to the info I requested.

2. I have absolutely no clue what a "stolen merchandise card" is. I also fail to see the significance of gift cards.

3. Level anything notwithstanding, we are all other users here. We do not work for Apple and are not privy to Apple's merchant agreement - a cardholder's agreement is with the card issuing company such as American Express, Visa, etc., not with Apple.

3. Your other accusations are inappropriate here. These are technical support forums. Hence, I will not comment further.

Your request was absurd as obv a receipt will have no meaning towards you. I'm sorry you are not privy to information that is publicly available. Merchant agreements are certainly available. You asked me a silly question- obv apple's rules do not permit what occurred in my case. I'm sorry that was confusing to you.

I know you do not work Apple. That's how obv. This is a community forum for customers to share experiences. I recently had a very costly and expensive one due to Apple security and a thief. Apple is aware of the situation and we are working on it. Calling another consumer's experience inflammatory, or whatever you said, is bizarre since you have no horse in the race. It is humorous to me that a neutral, fact based account of a recent Apple security breach would make you hysterical and angry.

If you did not create an Apple ID in the exact manner which is required for not using a credit card, you will have to enter a credit card now. That is simply how the process works. You can always remove the card after you get the cards verified. This is what you should have done.

Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method

After the the card is verified, you should be able to remove it and then just use iTunes gift cards or download free content.

Did you follow these steps exactly as written here? If you did follow them, what happened when you tried this?

Use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Store.
  2. Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in.
    User uploaded file
  3. Tap Payment Information. If you're using Family Sharing, only your family organizer can update the payment information.
  4. Change or remove your information. To remove your payment method, select None. Get help if you don't see None or can't select it.
    User uploaded file
  5. Tap Done.

If you change your payment method to a credit card, the iTunes Store places a temporary authorization hold on your credit card to verify your updated account information.
