This is something I've never seen before. I get a popup window with the following: Success What is this?

I keep getting the following message in a pop-up window.

Success

Success

What is this?

I don't get it on my Snow Leopard laptop (nor on my Android tablet), but when I changed my Mavericks iMac from Ethernet to Airport I saw it. The actual page is located at

http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html

and its coding is

Success

<BODY& gt;Success

meaning that some idiot has entered the html in such a way that the tags have been converted to the html code and so the coding shows when interpreted in html rather than just the word 'Success' - though of course it shouldn't be showing at all. As it's turning up for many people it's evidently a mess-up at Apple's end. Presumably Mavericks is carrying out some process when joining wifi that Snow Leopard doesn't do.

I used to get this pop-up message when I was in the local coffee shop and connected to their public Wi-Fi. It is a notification that you have successfully connected to a non-home Wi-Fi, and is part of OS X Mavericks. I no longer get this message on the same MBA in the same coffee shop after updating to Yosemite. It may be triggered by an initial Apple process communicating back to Apple over the public Wi-Fi. It only occurs once.

Of course, mine simply displayed Success, not corrupted HTML.
