safari not working properly, this url coming up http://x

My safari has stopped working properly, the homepage is automatically set to http://x&$search_param$=$search_id$/. I have tried to reset the homepage to the normal apple website but then when I quit safari and come back to it the same problem appears again. Safari will work if I tap into the url and search up a website (e.g. google) however when safari is opened or a new tab is open http://x&$search_param$=$search_id$/ This is what the url automatically comes up to. Is there a way I can just reset safari as a whole to get it back to normal?

It is extremely unlikely that this problem was actually caused by AdwareMedic. It's far more likely that this is either a coincidental problem, or that it was caused by whatever you installed that led to you needing to run AdwareMedic.

However, we can check to see what AdwareMedic removed from your system. You can get a list of all the files that AdwareMedic removed by opening AdwareMedic and choosing Open Log File from the Scanner menu. This will open the scan log, which shows everything that was detected and, if you chose to remove adware, everything that was removed. Post a copy of that scan log here.

If you have deleted AdwareMedic, you will still be able to find that log file here:

~/Library/Application Support/com.thesafemac.adwaremedic/AdwareMedic_log.txt
