iTunes says that I'm not signed into Apple Music

Every now and then while I'm listening to Apple Music, the music will stop and a pop up will say that I need to sign into Apple Music in order to listen. How did I get signed out and how do I sign back in? Each time this has happened, I've confirmed that I'm signed into iTunes and eventually have to restart the app all together.

Same problem. Tracks in Applet Music albums gradually all turned grey and then only my paid-for and ripped music was available. Have spent many hours trying to fix but nothing works. With many people being affected you'd think Apple would have found a fix quickly. Hope so. Only happened on my iMac. IPhone and iPad still working ok so not daring to sign in or out of either.

I was having a similar issue - strangely I could access and use all the Apple Music I had already added to My Music and also downloaded, but it wasn't letting my add new things to my music or stream anything. It would wait a while and then suddenly pop up asking me to sign up for Apple Music.

I took the wise advice of the characters from The IT Crowd and turned it off and on again. Everything worked normally afterwards. Whether it will happen all over again? Who knows. Until this whole Apple Music thing is perfected, I think we'll all have to deal with a few more roadblocks. Conceptually its great; they'll get there. Just might have to wait it out.

Another thing I noticed is that I wasn't able to play any song that was made available offline without getting the 'Not signed in to Apple Music' message, even though songs that I hadn't made available offline were working fine. I selected all of the songs in my icloud library and right clicked on the selection and chose 'Remove Downloads'. It works, but it did mean re-downloading all the songs when I made them available offline again...

Hi,

I had the same problem for days! Even was on Apple support chat for hours with supervisor after supervisor and still nothing!
Finally I found a solution!
As I like to keep my computer clean all my songs are played from the Cloud.
So I decided to download the affected songs to my pc and then delete them again so they go back into the cloud.
And Bam its all working again!!

Hope this helps all 🙂

I found that when I started listening to Apple Music on my iPhone, instantly iTunes on my Mac said that the music iTunes music currently playing has stopped and that I had to stop playing on the iPhone. I stopped the iPhone, hit the "play" button on the keyboard and got the standard error "The song “Troubled Man” cannot be played because you are not signed in to Apple Music.". However double clicking the file started music in itunes

So perhaps iPhone usage is the cause of the Mac iTunes Apple error?
