Cannot install Itunes on Windows 10

Hi I just upgraded and did a fresh install of Windows 10. Whenever I try to install itunes I get this error.

Not really sure what to do. Everything I have found online so far has been unhelpful. I ran in admin mode, compatibility mode, changed my amd video driver. It seems like a big mystery so far. It seems to have problems installing everything before Itunes in the packaged installer. This is the errors that pop up at the end of the install.

This is the only program I have had problems installing since the upgrade. Thanks for any info.

Had the same problem trying to install the latest iTunes after upgrading to Windows 10. Followed your link above and downloaded the older version and it works fine. Thanks.

Everything is working fine, but I'm getting pop-up about a new version of iTunes - is it OK to install?

You can try. Someone else reported that they installed the offered upgrade and things went smoothly. If it doesn't work out you can reinstall the other version.

Have the same problem with installing iTunes on my newly updated Win 10 laptop. I used to use my i-devices with my PC laptop, so iTunes becomes an essential.

I have Mac as well, but Apple allows using iPod & iPad only on 1 laptop, even if You are logged in with your Apple ID on both PC and Mac. So if I try to use mi i-device on my Mac it will erase all my music and other data, no options! APPLE, THIS IS STUPID!

Much more easier just to drag and drop your music and files then use iTunes with lots of limitations!

Strictly the limitation is syncing your device with one library rather than one computer. See Make a split library portable for advice on how to put your library into a shape that can be copied from one computer to another (if it isn't already).

Thanks for the help, OP here. I used the version for old cards and it worked. I actually forgot about this thread until I got the emails saying someone posted in it.

Got a strange one - my brother's just updated to Windows 10 (from Windows 7) he couldn't get iTunes to work so we removed then installed from the link you gave.

The library appears, phone can be backed up with no problem but when he clicks on sync he gets pop-up that "This computer is no longer authorised..." (no doubt due to new version of Windows). So he clicks Authorise, prompted for Apple ID. When entered get "Accessing store" then returns to Enter Apple ID & Password. Trying again gives this error

Have even tried resetting password but cannot get any further

Any solutions / suggestions?

Try the steps in If iTunes repeatedly prompts you to authorize your computer - Apple Support.

Not sure if you've noticed, there's a new version of iTunes (12.3) available it provides "support for ios9 and Windows 10" so hopefully will resolve the problems people have encountered
