Syncing problems

I've been trying to add music to my iPod Touch 5th generation but no matter what I try it won't sync. It shows up "Preparing to update files" but won't actually add any files. When it stops preparing I go into my iPod in iTunes and see if the songs are there and this shows up:

I tried the 'netsh winsock reset' fix I heard about before but that didn't work. Anybody know how to fix this? About the only thing I haven't done is restore it to factory settings, but that's the last resort option. My iPod is running the latest version of iOS (8.4) and my computer s running Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes (12.2.1.16)
