Performance MacBook Pro

I have a 2012 macbook pro and have experienced ever decreasing performance since new. I have the latest OSX [Yosemite 10.10.4]. Is this fixable or is it just a 'mac' thing.... I've seen so many similar questions raised and decreasing Mac performance and no one answer seems to fix it.. Perhaps a move back to Windows is needed :-)

Hi Linc,

Just FYI, b4 I took my mac to the Apple store, I decided to do a completely new clean install of Yosemite. It took some time, but I am happy to report that my MacBook has now returned to good performance. Boot time is not as good as when new [but maybe Yosemite has something to do with that], it now takes around 15 seconds [as opposed to 1:30 before the new install] but application startup is great. Not sure what the actual issue was and maybe it will start to degrade again, but thought you might like this feedback.

Thanks for all your help.
