1. No.
2. No.
3, No.
Overheating is a problem and should never occur. Any overheating should be analyzed by Apple. The best bet is the resident "Genius" at an Apple Store.
Realized during the times when the phone consumes the battery like a thirsty man at a watering hole my phone gets pretty warm.
Rebooted the phone. Within moments it was cool again. Booted it again, battery consumption is back to normal and the phone isn't warm. Went from 52% charged down to 17% in an hour. Rebooted, it's only lost 2% in the last 30 minutes. Still cool to the touch.
Something here is goofed up, and it's not the hardware on my phone.

You know that without having the hardware checked? Amazing!
I don't know if this will help anyone else, but my phone had lots of issues but this helped:
I turned on "Show Apple Music" this morning, and haven't had any issues.
No.
Yes. Apple Music kept the phone from idling for 8 hours. It's right there dude.
Apple Music keeps asking me to sign up when I already have!
Google it. It should be fairly obvious at this point Apple Music and 8.4.1 is having issues for a number of users. I don't have low battery logs like this until I did the 8.4.1 upgrade, and a bad battery isn't going to cause Apple Music to suddenly prevent my phone from idling.
Did you bother getting a second opinion from someone less educated than you are, perhaps the resident "Genius" at an Apple Store?
I was hoping someone like you would have an intelligent interpretation of my low battery logs, but I guess that was too much to ask. I guess points and levels aren't indicative of usefulness.
The Genius visit is tomorrow. I wanted 2 days of logs, AC full charges and complete discharges to show before I went in, which is what you people suggested.
Since you've already drawn a conclusion, as questionable as it might be, will you refuse to accept a replacement unit if offered?
Explain "questionable". You've found fault in the battery log that shows Apple Music had an 8 hour and 38 minute thread open that prevented the phone from idling? Please, elaborate. Because so far the evidence fits my narrative, your pedantry notwithstanding.
No.
Solved... I have moved my iPhone5 to IOS9 as beta tester............... NO MORE OVERHEATING
