Photos for Mac says "Unable to upload 222 items"

As you can see in attached screenshot, my Photos app works fine in uploading or downloading new files except that it says "Unable to upload 222 items". While that may be related to the format of files, I wonder whether I can know what items have not been uploaded. Its difficult to manually verify as i have almost 30k files in the iCloud. Are these unuploaded files stored in some file in root folder?

The "Unable to Upload" photos can be found in a smart album with the rule "Photo is unable to upload".

Also only photos from my iphone and ipad get synced to macbooks photo app and not videos. pl help

This looks like your iPhone were only syncing with My Photo Stream and not iCloud Photo Library. heck, if iCloud Photo Library is still enabled. My Photo Stream cannot transfer videos or the live part of Live Photos.

Ok, so i think I was able to figure out the solution. i made a smart album with "all the photos unuploaded in iCloud" turned out all the photos were corrupted during transfer but were not referenced.I have attached the screenshot below .Thanks a ton for helping

Do you still have the library that you migrated from. If so get the filename of each of the images from the info window in Photos and search for them in your previous library. Hopefully you will find them and be able to re-export them to add to Photos.

I also have this issue after upgrading to El Capitain. Perhaps they always were there, but it's just that El Capitain shows this info?

to see them make a smart album - file menu ==> new smart album with criteria photos is unable to upload toe iCloud Photo library - then you should be able to resolve or delete the items

Yes, now I see them. It seems that it's photos that only have thumbnails. I guess there is nothing to do but deleting the photos.

Had two photos unable to load. They were from 2002 and 2006 (no pic even showing). I deleted them after reading this post. Very helpful!

Thanks for the clever tip to identify the problematic photos.

Is it possible to re-sync these photos to the iCloud?

I don't want to delete them - I want them uploaded to my Photos iCloud library.

Thanks from yet another for this helpful tip. I note in my version of this Smart Folder, I have versions of the same pix on other devices, so I am hesitant to delete them. ("Delete images" promises to delete them on my iCloud space as well: puzzling.) But at least I know the items that are the objects of the Photo app's gripe, and they may be a more precise target for my own puzzlement. As it were. 😕
