Preview Disabled in log capture window

This comes up along with color bars in L&C window
im using a JVC GR-HD1 camera it is plugged in and set to VTR it does recieve control from FCP im not getting any video in the L&C window however any ideas?...

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.8), 4 Gig Ram Motu PCI ASIO. Cubase 4.01 JVC GR-HD1 Final Cut Studio

yes i have 3 seperate internal drive one for audio on for video and another for sound effects and one smaller drive for the OS

Is the camera set to DV not HDV?

edit - also, have you run the Quicktime Reinstallation process?

Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg

Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.

Run the Quicktime installer.

Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)

Reboot

And when i switch to an HDV preset it then does not recognise my cam

Hey agomez,
you are not alone, I am having the EXACT same problem and have tried all of the suggestions posted here....clearly Apple has not dealt with this issue nor has a solution for it....I'm guessing the only other option is to try to load the footage from a different source i.e. another camera or deck...
