iTunes does not recognize iPod under Windows 10

I am running Windows 10 on my old homemade desktop (running just fine, thanks) and the latest version of iTunes. I have an iPod Touch.I am trying to get the iPod to connect with iTunes, which is not happening. I did not have that trouble before I upgraded to Windows 10.

I am running iTunes "as administrator" thanks to a user's suggestion, but that has not helped. Any other assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, after three months I have solved my conundrum. Luckily I have two Laptops but gor tired of having to Sync on them especially when traveling as I was not going to carry both to keep up with my Podcasts

This is what I did:

  1. Identified on my Laptop # 2 the 2.0 USB (Win 10)
  2. Identified in my Laptop # 1 the Apple Mobile Support Drivers and copied them to an SD Card (Win 8.1)
  3. Took the SD card and plugged it in slot of Laptop # 2
  4. Identified inf usbaapl64 and installed the same
  5. Restarted Laptop # 2
  6. And Voila !!! There it was in USB Controllers the Apple Mobile Support!
  7. And in Itunes My Ipod synced

I'm not an IT Engineer just 67 yrs old. Shame on you Apple and Microsoft IT's in this age and time to leave so many folks out there w/o a solution

Thank you for your letter explaining the situation. I thought it was me!! as a very basic computer cabbage, these issues annoy the crap out of me. Its just not good enough you guys at apple and microsoft. Get your - - - - - - - act together. I wasted hours trying to work out whats gone wrong and it appears to be yours collective issues. Please sort this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
