To Loner T... We were talking earlier about me getting Windows on my Mac Yosemite (2009)...

Hey Loner T,

Our conversation apparently timed out earlier & I wasn't allowed to post any more... I hope you can still help me...I'm SO CLOSE to completing this ongoing nightmare of a task!! As of right now, I've cleared out my "trash" and I still only have 36.82 GB of free space on my start up disc. You suggested I allocate at least 100 GB to Windows when I partition (which is the step I am at...) Is there a way I can use another HD (an external one) to install Windows on? Or does it HAVE to be my internal HD/start up disc??

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Ok, as soon as I clicked "install" I got this message:

"Boot Camp needs to update the USB drive before installing Windows 7.

The USB drive connected to this Mac contains a bootable volume. In order to install Windows 7 from the DVD, the Boot Camp Assistant needs to disable this functionality. No information on the drive will be removed. Do you want to continue?"

What now??!
