Is it possible to Remote Desktop from an iMac running Yosemite 10.10.5 to a Dell PC running Windows 10 and with Norton Internet Security installed on the PC? Thanks!

Is it possible to Microsft Remote Desktop (Beta for Mac Os X) from an iMac (late 2009) running Yosemite 10.10.5 to a Dell Dimension PC (Pentium D) running Windows 10 and with Norton Internet Security installed on the PC? Both computers are connected to a Belkin 5 port switch and a Zyxel F1000 Router is also connected to the switch. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Well, I'm really sorry but I can't help you anymore, I think the problem is on your pc I suggest you to contact windows 10 support or "microsoft remote desktop" support (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/home?forum=winRD c)I'm sure they'll be more helpful.

Sorry! May I know if you have tried to disable Norton Firewall and check if the connection works? Could you let me know the version of Norton Internet Security you have in the PC? Also, were you able to check if the NetworkTrust under "Firewall" Settings is set to "Full Trust"? Let me know if it helps.

Hi Dinesh.

I have disabled Smart Firewall but it still doesn't work. My version is 22.5.2.15 (latest version). I have just set to Full Trust again with no success.

Its probably something obvious that I've overlooked.

Hi,

Sorry about that! Since the connection is still not working with Norton Firewall disabled and Network Fully Trusted. I don't think Norton could be the cause of the issue. If you suspect Norton could be the problem try to uninstall Norton from the PC and check. Let me know if you need any help.
