I currently have the 20GB iCloud storage for $0.99/month and apple just introduced 50GB of storage for the same price. Will my account upgrade automatically to 50GB?

I had the $10.99/year 20GB plan (was grandfathered into that). The Apple rep I spoke to said that was a plan they no longer had. So he had to put me on the $.99/month plan to get upgraded to the 50GB plan. Odd that I didn't just get upgraded, but I'm okay paying an extra $.99 to get another 30GB.
Very confusing. I had the annual plan at 25GBs a year for $11.99. Just received an email that my subscription was just renewed at $12 for the 25GB plan. I had thought the upgrade to 50GB was automatic. I then upgraded to the 50GB plan for $.99 a month. I have now been charged $.99 + $12 and will most likely be charged $.99 for the following months. I should of had a credit for the $11.99 because the 50GB is the same price as the 25GB plan. Instead, I will be paying a total of $24 for this coming year. How is this fair! I have just paid double! The iCloud email receipt says to contact Apple for a refund, but it doesn't say anywhere who to contact about obtaining a refund.
Contacted Apple at the following:
https://getsupport.apple.com/ServiceOptionAction.action
It asks for a serial number of a device, so be ready.
I then spoke to someone, they stated that they see a refund for my initial 25GB annual plan for $11.99. They also see my initial $.99 charge for the new 50GB plan. Whats frustrating is that there was no refund email, which, if sent, would have solved all this. I will now be charged $.99 every month which is ******** ( I would have of wished to have kept the annual plan), but Apple is now to big to really care anymore about the small details that affected the consumer.
Actually, I am really thinking of leaving the Apple garden because the hardware quality, features, and prices of the competition are so much better now days.
For example:
1. Poor iCloud storage options and pricing compared to competition.
2. Weak processors and video adapters within Apple computers, but I am still being charged prices that would buy you a top of the line PC. The computers are so slow after a few OS upgrades that your forced to purchase a new Mac. The consumer didn't benefit, but Apple's profit margins did.
3. Increased prices of the AppleTV for no logical reason (which I use everyday). Additionally, they charge outrageous prices for purchasing and renting movies when compared to the competition. With the prices they charge for the movies and rentals, the new 2015 AppleTV should be subsidized. The box should cost no more than $75 retail.
4. Weak processors they put within the iPads and iPhones. My iPad retina is just way too slow with iOS 9, even in iOS8 it was painfully slow. If Apple would have initially placed additional cores and a faster processor within the iPad, like the competition had initially done by reducing their profit margins a little, my iPad would still be going strong for basic web surfing and email. The cores could have been turned off at the users request to increase battery life. This is a Apple tactic which they know will force you to upgrade within a few years.
Even now my new iPhone 6 plus is sluggish, yet my friends Android phones with quad core processors are responsive as ****.
Basically, I love to hate Apple.
