iTunes Issue with songs ending too soon.

Hi,

I have several songs in my iTunes that for some reason the music stops playing before the track has fully ended. In previous versions of iTunes, I have been able to go to that song in my iTunes library, click on Get Info and then under the options tab I have been able to tick a box which has that songs total run time and its complete finish time. I would tick this box and then click on OK and it would solve my problem with that song.

With iTunes 12.2.2.25 this now does not work. After I tick the box, click OK and close it. If I go back to it again, the box is untucked and the song still ends early. I'm guessing it's a bug with this version of iTunes.

Does anybody else have this same behaviour with the get info tab 'options'?

I'm running iTunes version 12.2.2.25 and this occurs with both purchased and music that I have added to iTunes from my own CDs.

Thanks...

Firstly I would always recommend Spotify over Apple Music. As much as I love Apple, there music streaming service is nothing special and personally I think very long winded.

Have to tried to make a copy of the song from your iTunes library and then delete the original and see if that makes any difference? This is an ongoing issues and i am sure that Apple is aware of it but until they get enough users making a issues out of it they won't look in to it. Please leave feedback here https://www.apple.com/feedback/ if you have not already done so.

I did try to go in to the time settings of some of the effected songs but when I changed the time by only a second, iTunes would not save this so it kept happening again.

I'm having this issue too. I'm using Windows 10, and updated iTunes yesterday to 12.3.2.35.

Thought maybe converting the song using iTunes would help, but that didn't fix anything. What's unusual though is that the song cuts off around 2:20 (length is actually 3:30) and the converted file length is 2:21. So iTunes isn't even recognising that there's another 70 seconds to the song.

Hi, is the issue that you are having with music purchased from iTunes or music that you have added yourself to your iTunes library?

This issue that I am getting now but not so often is only with music purchased from iTunes. The only way that I have found to fix the issues to is delete/remove the song from my iTunes library and then re-downloaded it again from iTunes in the Cloud purchases. This has always fixed the song from ending too soon.

If the issue you are having is not with songs purchased from iTunes store and is occurring with songs that you have added to iTunes yourself, than maybe try this:

Locate the song that is ending too soon > Right click on it > Click on get info > Choose 'options' at the top > Tick the box next to the tracks end time > Click on OK and try playing the song again that was ending too soon.

If that still does not work, follow the above steps again but after you tick the box next to the tracks end time, reduce the tracks end time by one second and then click OK and try the track again.

This last step has only ever worked for me twice, I think that there might be a bug in iTunes that after you press OK and go back to the track wheat ever steps you have done before pressing OK are not saved and revert back to how they were. I have submitted several reports to Apple via there feedback page but as far as I can see this bug is still there.

Try the above and see how you get on.

Thanks,

Mark.
