how do you block a source in apple news

From the article, click the "Share" icon. You will see a option to "Mute Channel".

Swipe right on an article in your feed and select mute channel. Swiping left also offers choices.

Sadly they do place garbage news sources in your feed but it can be customized.

Mute the channels you don't like.

I've muted a publication in my News feed but it's still showing articles from this publication. Why?

Yup, pressing did not do the trick, had to swipe right.

On my ipod touch, you have to hold your finger down on the story in the feed, then swipe right. Then you can "mute channel."

Confirmed for me, in the feed hold your finger down on an article until it expands, then swipe up to get options, dislike channel
