No update buttons in App Store iOS 9

I can't update any of my apps in the App Store on my iPhone 6. I just upgraded to iOS 9. Immediately after the upgrade, I there were about 76 apps that needed updating. I chose a few to update, and those installed fine. But now when I go to the Updates area, every single app has an OPEN button next to it instead of an UPDATE button. Sometimes when I go to the Updates area, each app will briefly have an UDPATE button, but each one very quickly changes to an OPEN button. The Update All link at the top is disabled.

To get a little more time to press the update all button:-

1. Touch the Top Charts tab (any tab except Updates)

2. Press the home button once to exit the app

3. Press the home button twice quickly to get the list of open apps

4. Swipe the App Store app up off the top of the screen to close the app

5. Open the App Store app

6. Touch the updates tab and then quickly press the update all button.

By clearing the app from memory (step 4) and having it re-open on a different tab (step 1 + step 5), when you switch to the Updates tab (step 6) you seem to get an extra second or two to press the update all button before it disables.

I was having the same problem even though I have not upgraded to iOS 9 yet. I did the following, and it fixed the problem for me.

1. Closed out of all apps.

2. Signed out of my Apple ID on my phone

3. Did a hard reboot (press and hold the power button and the home button together)

4. After the phone turned back on, I went back into my Apple ID and signed back in.

5. I confirmed the payment information associated with my Apple ID.

6. After that, the App Store updates behaved normally and I was able to install them.

I did the same, there were 8 updates pending, I just logged of my Apple ccount via Settings, "App and iTunes Stores".

Then logged back in again, had to verify my credit card account and then opened Appstore again. Now all updates

remained in the "Update" status, and the "Update All" button kept lit. So a reboot was not required.

And after a couple of seconds some more updates popped up. Then pressed "Update All" and it started to update

all app's again. Solved! Thanks! (iPad Mini) (iPhone 6+ did not have these problems)

Even weirder, I have a secondary Japanese iTunes account that I use to download/update a few Japanese store apps. After the update when I switch accounts (inside of settings/itunes) it changes stores to the Japanese one but it doesn't show any available updates to the apps that have updates. Nothing new shows up in the list at all. Manually searching that app in the store just offers to open the app, even though the version listed is newer then the one installed.

They can be updated in iTunes on the computer and then synced to the phone as usual.

Heck. Under iOS 9, my iPhone 6+ App Store is just a bunch of blank, white pages. "Fixes" on the Discussion boards have made things FAR worse

I have reset Network, no fix

Signed out of iCloud, and there is no option to sign back in. All the boxes are greyed out.

I restored my iPhone from a backup, and went back to the original problem.

Hard to believe Apple really tests their software before unleashing it.

Oddly enough...

Went to Settings> Date and Time and turned "Set Automatically" to OFF. Voila! App Store is now working normally. Makes sense, in a way, as the Time was set to Chicago and I live in Houston, and Houston's set to overtake ChiTown as America's 3rd largest city. I reckon my iPhone was gagging on the entire "Chicago" insult.
