ipad 2 upgrade to iOS9 failed and destroyed my iPad

So I got the alert from iTunes to upgrade my ipad2 to the new IOS9 today. plugged in the iPad to my Macbook, and now my iPad no longer works nor will restore. In fact it won't even respond after its screen request to connect to itunes. So Now this upgrade appears to have been responsible for killing my iPad that was working just fine prior.. How do I fix this or how is Apple going to fix what they did to my iPad?

Many, including myself, have updated their iPad 2 models with no issues.

iPad 2 is, now, a 6 year old device.

Was your iPad 2 either out of or very low on free data storage space?

You need, at least, 3 GBs or more of free data storage space to do a WiFi, over the air iOS upgrade/update.

Anything below 1 GB could result in a failed upgrade/update.

Since your iPad 2 was rendered defective, did the Apple Store offer you an out of warranty replacement iPad 2 for $199 U.S.D.?

For another $129, for $329, coming this Friday, you can order a brand new 32 GBs storage iPad model , that Apple just introduced today, that is head and shoulders above any iPad 2,3 or 4 model.

Hey Folks!

have had the same issue ipad 2 kept rebooting after ios 9 upgrade, with the following resolution of the issue!

what helped me is:

1. update itunes with latest update

2. do a reboot till display clears completely black and then let all buttons go. (hold home and lock button)

3. then take a usb cable connect to the device first, and then start to press home button on ipad and DO NOT let go while you connect ipad cable to the PC usb port.

4. once communication established with pc and itunes do factory reste

cheers

2. lunch itunes and update it

3 connect a cable to the ipad, with out connecting it to the pc by now

4. while pressing and holding the home button permanently connect the cable to the pc

Tried to upgrade to ios9 on my Ipad and bricked it during the process. Stuck on same page as most upgrades ("slide to upgrade"

Tried to follow Apple "fix" but it did not work. Required that I turn of "Find My Ipad" first......kinda difficult when you are shut out of the system.

Seems that most of the problems are occuring with people who are upgrading from ios7 to 9 without having gone through 8.4.1.

I found the following "fix" online and was able to recover my iPad (including all 155 downloaded apps and all of my files and photos) in about 20 minutes. I must say that before I bricked the ipad trying to upgrade to ios9 I had done a full backup.

Here is the link. It requires downgrading the ios to 8.4.1 which allows the ipad to function. You then link to iTunes and restore your apps before upgradinbg to ios9. Went without a hitch.....whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
