ipad 2 upgrade to iOS9 failed and destroyed my iPad

So I got the alert from iTunes to upgrade my ipad2 to the new IOS9 today. plugged in the iPad to my Macbook, and now my iPad no longer works nor will restore. In fact it won't even respond after its screen request to connect to itunes. So Now this upgrade appears to have been responsible for killing my iPad that was working just fine prior.. How do I fix this or how is Apple going to fix what they did to my iPad?

Many, including myself, have updated their iPad 2 models with no issues.

iPad 2 is, now, a 6 year old device.

Was your iPad 2 either out of or very low on free data storage space?

You need, at least, 3 GBs or more of free data storage space to do a WiFi, over the air iOS upgrade/update.

Anything below 1 GB could result in a failed upgrade/update.

Since your iPad 2 was rendered defective, did the Apple Store offer you an out of warranty replacement iPad 2 for $199 U.S.D.?

For another $129, for $329, coming this Friday, you can order a brand new 32 GBs storage iPad model , that Apple just introduced today, that is head and shoulders above any iPad 2,3 or 4 model.

I had to force a restore to factory settings which recovered my Ipad still using IOS 9. However, I cannot connect my Ipad to ITunes to restore my backup of apps etc as I receive an error "my Ipad does not have the latest version of ITunes". As the Ipad has IOS 9 loaded I would assume I have the latest version of ITunes but I cannot find a way of knowing what to do. On the Ipad I have ITunes store as an app and no way that I can see to upgrade it.

I did the upgrade to ios9 on my ipad 2...FYI don't do it unless your computer is supported by a new update to windows. Since the upgrade I cannot sync my ipad or now iphone 6 because there is no upgrade from windows.. I made appt at the Apple Store in Farmington Station in Farmington Utah. Was not impressed with service or answers. All Apple wants me to do is buy an upgrade for windows so it will support my IPad/IPhone/IPod. WhichI cannot afford to do. I am very upset with Apple on this upgrade because you didn't bother telling your customers that it is not compatible with operating systems on your own computer that you back up.HEY APPLE.....what happened to loyalty to your customers...

Oh, so sorry. I have a 2012 Mac and updated iTunes. At least your devices are up and running. You can have up to five computers with iTunes authorized to your Apple ID (I think, check Apple's site for details). Maybe you have another computer with an updated system that can install iTunes and you can sync them that way. Meantime, perhaps you can back to the cloud until then. 😕 Somewhere there is a published list of supported Windows versions.

It took a lot of trial and error, but I was ultimately able to fix this. Here's how:

-Follow the instructions on this web page to put the iPad into recovery mode: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

-When given the option in iTunes, chose "set up as new iPad" (do not choose "restore from backup" - this didn't work for me).

When this process was finished, I had iOS9 on my iPad with none of my apps or data. From within iTunes, you then have to specify what apps and data you want to sync with the iPad. Yes, you're starting from scratch, but at least you have a functional device.

I had issues upgrading and my iPad 2 from 4.3.3 to iOS9 and it got stuck in recovery mode (connect to iTunes logos with the usb). I tried every reboot, restart, change cables, change computers, etc. suggestion and nothing would get it out of the recovery mode. I would connect to iTunes and click upgrade and/or restore and every time I would get an error in iTunes saying error code 9. I finally found this tool and it was able to get my iPad 'unstuck' in recovery mode. Either search the web for REIBOOT or go to copy this and remove the spaces "w w w . tenorshare . c o m /products/reiboot. h t m l"

Still no luck with the upgrade though.
