AirPlay music streaming not working in iOS 9 (13A344)

I was able to stream music from my iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 to my home AirPlay speakers before upgrading to iOS 9. After upgrading, I noticed I was unable to maintain a connection to the speakers even though they are on the AirPlay list and connected to my network. When I press on them and hit the play button to play any song, it will disconnect from the speaker and start playing from my device speaker instead. I press the AirPlay speaker again, and it will not connect and play any music to it.

I restarted my devices and my AirPort Time Capsule base station as well as the speakers and the problem still persists. I used my MacBook Pro to stream music to the AirPlay speakers via iTunes and it works perfectly fine. Any help or confirmation of this bug affecting others running iOS 9 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the exact same problem.

My AirPlay speaker is a Panasonic SC-AP01 that came out in 2012. I contacted Panasonic and there is no firmware update available, and no plans to release one.

It appears that my 3 year old official AirPlay certified speaker is now obsolete as of ios9. Would have been nice to know before I updated my phone...

I guess Apple is too busy building their spaceship to be concerned with trivial issues such as alerting their 'valued' customers about a potential lack of compatibility with officially certified AirPlay speakers.

Have the same problem with Beoplay A8 and iPad 3 and iPod touch 6th generation. Contacted B&O. Got a very fast response that the issue is known and that research department is working on it. But at this point of time it is not clear if they will offer a firmware update for the player because many (maybe all) other airplay players are affected. From my perspective apple should fix this problem with the next update for iOS.

Good thing with my A8. It has a docking station that still works.

I have the same problem using my 5s On iOS 9.1 and a B&W Zeppelin Air. It's not been right since iOS 8, but now the volume doesn't work properly and disconnects if i try to adjust it, although it's fine if I use the Zeppelin Remote. The zeppelin is up to date, and I have tied using my wife's iPhone 6 which is exactly the same.

Any advice is much appreciated.
