iPhone 5 Stuck on slide to upgrade after iOS 9 update..

This iPhone 5 is the last apple product I will use. This problem really messes me up! I lost all of my important data. I wasted two nights fixing this. I will never purchase any apple product anymore!

I too am stuck on the slide to update screen. I followed the suggested solution path above and downloaded the correct .ipsw file, but when I option/shift/command click on restore it wont take me to the option of selecting it. Is there something silly I am doing?

I have done the downgrade and the restore but I don;t dare do the update to 9. Are you saying it all works out fine if you do?

It sounds like you are holding down more than one key. If you are on MAC hold option while you click the restore button. If you are on a PC hold down Shift while you click on restore. The phone must be at the connect to iTunes screen for this to work.

This is me also - is there something I'm not doing correctly on the download? Is anyone able to suggest what we might be doing wrong?

Are you able to provide a link for Mega? the other site IPSW doesn't seem to provide any files that my ITunes can recognize so I can't use them to restore.

Would be much appreciated. I think some other users are having this problem also.

I had the same issue, all you need to do is rename the .zip file you downloaded to .ipsw in Windows Explorer (assuming you're on Windows).

Thanks for the advice Harpreet, it was the only option that worked for me. Has anyone tried upgrading from 8.4.1 back to 9 yet?

Thanks Kissinut. I just did that yet when I try to use that update to restore the phone iTunes tells me "could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible" would love if you could help me further.

Hey, I updated my phone a day ago not knowing the issues with ios 9. I have an iphone 4s and i was wondering if your solution can save not only my pictures but texts messages as well and ibooks in which id be super sad if I lost.

Hi, sounds like you've downloaded the wrong one, make sure it's the right one for your device (eg ipad3 wifi). There are several versions for each iPad or iPhone.

I downloaded again using Firefox (so didn't have to convert) I have an Australian phone model A1429 which everything online says is Iphone 5 GSM so I've downloaded iPhone5,1_8.4.1_12H321_Restore.ipsw yet I still get this message. I originally followed instructions from Apple support and so wiped and restored my phone from Icloud back up but just end up back and the slide screen. Now it seems I can't get the work around to work either! Ahh. Any help would be appreciated.

Might be wrong but after a quick Google I think you need the iPhone 5 Global one.
