iOS 9 update mail shows as unread? All 43000!

Very helpfu!

In your iPhone. Go to settings. Go to email. Delete your email provider account. Restart phone. Go online to your mail provider and delete ALL emails.

Go back into iPhone. Re-add your mail provider in your settings.

Once I did this, my emails mark as read in bulk again.

I had the same problem and here's how I fixed it. Go to Settings, Mail, Contact, Calendars then Outlook and finally Delete Account. Your email account will be entirely erased. Once that's done go ahead and Add Account and set up your email again. All the unread email flags will be gone.

I had the same problem and the above didn't work.

mine was with my gmail accounts and so I went through onto gmail on my pc (couldn't see all options on tablet) and if you click the arrows on the search box you can search unread.

once you have the list select all (tick box above the tick boxes for each mail) and a message will appear to ask you if you want to select everything unread on your account. Select it and mark as read.

once this is done in your mail on iOS should show zero.
