iOS 9 podcast app video in fullscreen

Before the update of the iPad to iOS9, it was possible to enjoy video podcasts full screen.

Now after the update, videos are played only in a small area of the screen.

Besides there are big bright white areas with controls and title.

Any one an idea how to switch to full screen?

the only thing which bothers me about using other podcast apps is that for video, they aren't free. Apple customers pay a premium price for hardware and SOFTWARE which is supposed to be harmonious. If Apple can't write good software anymore, then shouldn't the hardware price come down significantly? What's really weird about this is that more people haven't complained.

Maybe everyone knows how useless Apple's Podcasts app is, no one is using it, and so no one complains. How Apple is not embarrassed to put out something like this, is beyond me. Don't tell me Tim Cook would watch a video podcast where one half of the screen is taken up by toolbars. When Steve Jobs once allegedly fired all the MobileMe developers team, perhaps the entire Podcasts team should be fired now. How can this be considered in any way acceptable or excusable? A giant corporation like Apple with apparently ZERO quality control?!

As to paying for third-party video podcasts apps, I don't really mind. They deserve it. And iOS app prices are symbolically low. It's not like Mac OS where you pay dozens of dollars for a simple utility app.

For now, I've been able to locate all of my former video podcasts as YouTube channels. Thank you for once again driving me away from your software, Apple. That was apparently your intention. I avoid your software like the plague, anyway, because it's so dumb as a matter of principle, so the Podcasts app has now been added to the trash heap. And then Apple is wondering why people prefer Spotify over Apple Music, etc. etc. It's because Apple seem incapable of creating quality software, period. See the blatant disregard with which this elementary Podcasts dysfunction has been treated.

I use the podcasts app since I got my Ipad, but with the update I'm so unhappy with the half screen. I dont understand why on earth they did that. And on top of that, before it was easy to use, but now I don't find my video playlist and it deleted a lot of my favorite video podcast I stored.

Totally UNHAPPY!!! 😟 I hoped they would change it back, but no luck with that. Any recommendation for another App???

When the Hosts remove a post, it first gets moved to another thread. So, if you see "Branched to a new discussion", it means the thread has had some editing done to it. Those threads are not accessible. The posts have been deemed in violation of the Terms of Use.

Yes. If any of the posts removed were yours, you will have received an email explaining why. However, according to the Terms of Use to which we all agreed when we signed up here, we acknowledge that Apple has the right to remove any posts at any time for any reason.

IT really is confusing why so many people are unhappy and asking questions, and since iOS 9 was released several months ago, that there has been no answer anywhere I can find as to whether this is a bug or an intentional change to the podcast app by Apple. iMore seems to think it's a bug, but to take over four months to correct it seems negligent. I've sent email to all the proper channels with no response. Frustrating to say the least. I always expect more from Apple. Maybe I'll have to lower my expectations of future involvement.

This is out of question - it is rather confusing finding a thread marked as "moved to a new discussion" when the link does not produce anything but an "unauthorised" message.

And, thank you for reminding me about use agreements - my posts haven't been "moved" - yet---

It's the way the software, Jive, that runs the forum, appears to work. Nothing is actually ever deleted, just moved out of public view.

This clarifies the commonly-stated view that Apple never reads these forums, don't post any recommendations here, it will never be seen by Apple, etc.

It appears Apple *does* read these, but the above is the extent of their involvement.
