Ios 9 cant enable mobile data for application(s)?

I was traveling while upgrading my device, and most seem to work as expected so far.

Since I'm careful with roaming charges, I disabled most of the apps from the mobile data setting page before I left, so I could read mail abroad without using alot of data in the background.

After upgrading to IOS 9, I can't seem to enable mobile data for any new apps.

The ones that were already enabled, is fine.. they can be disabled and then enabled again, but for example spotify refuses to use mobile data after the update,

I've restarted, soft reset, and every time the mobile data checkbutton is back to off if I go out of settings and in again (and it doesn't work).

Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having exactly the same issue. Any apps that were switched off for mobile data use before the IOS 9 update will not now switch back on. I've reset network settings to no avail. Deleting the apps and reinstalling them doesn't seem to work either. I thought about using one of my recent backups to iCloud but oddly since the IOS update I no longer have any phone backups despite me previously backing up pretty regularly!

Why would WE have to say "thank you"??

THEY have to say "SORRY!".

I can't remember hearing that - ever.

Sure the the cellular data switching works now.

But it should never have failed.

Search in E-Mails seems to work at times -

but only after bloody ages, on an iPhone 4s.

Scrolling should be called HOPPING on an iPhone 4s.

This device is also stuck so long and often that I wanna

smash it against the next wall.

My next phone?

Since "upgrading" to a 5s would render several docks

and radio clocks useless, I can as well switch to a totally

other brand. Which I will very likely do.

Six years and still the same stuff going on,

with Apple seemingly having NOTHING learned -

sorry that's just TOO long, can't wait any longer,

running out of precious LIFE TIME - Steve would

have known what this means.

From a SIX year experience with iOS (version 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8)

I'd say you can expect at least FIVE bugfix releases per iOS major version.

Imagine each of the last five cars you bought brand new had to be recalled five times

until they were working properly ... would you still buy the same brand? Would you

have bought the same brand a second time after the first one?

I only sticked with Apple as the money for the numerous apps bought will all be wasted when switching.

Well, indeed I'm fed.
I'm fed with an iTunes being a pain to use, getting worse with every release - it's about five years since it last was really intuitive now, but its performance has always been a pain in the crack. In the past six years it kept syncing with Outlook work and fail and work and fail. It has been corrupting, messing up, garbling songs on iPod and iPhone and iPad.Ever since iOS 7 it has become the best example for somebody who hasn't got a clue about user interfaces and usability.
I'm fed with iOS, frying WiFi chips, using up my cellular data quota, dropping useful functions and controls, and introducing new gimmicks which are more annoying than useful. Fed with being robbed of the sync functions. Fed with slowing down my phone to a speed that drives me nuts when using it.
I'm fed with Apple ignoring user complaints and bug reports and even denying being responsible for some problems.
I'm fed with wannabe-designers messing a nice user interface up totally.
I'm fed with accesories stopping to work because a new iOS release doesn't support it anymore, or because new connectors make them obsolete.
And I'm fed with a "professional" company being unable to do a proper testing. If other companies would have delivered products tested THAT poorly, they'd be long gone. No customers on earth would accept SUCH a poor performance for products priced THAT high in ANY other field of business. Try that in the automotive industry, or even worse, in the aviation industry - you'd be STONED.

As one just said a bit before - indeed, you're right - I've wasted six years of my life to these products. But, opposite to most others, I'm able to confirm and admit that mistake. Oh, and YES - I WILL switch. In January, when I'll be renewing my mobile contract.

WWell said. I agree with everything you said. I don't think people should be thanking apple for releasing 9.0.2 to fix the cellular data issue - iOS 9 should never of seen the light of day with such a shocking bug. The fact it was raised in beta makes the actions inexcusable. I am fed up with all the bugs, many never getting fixed, fed up with playing Russian roulette every time an update comes wondering what will break. I don't give two hoots about new emoticons or moving stuff for the sake of it. I just want reliable software. A piece of flash hardware is only as good as the software that runs on it
