Help! iOS 9 - No Service on iPhone 5

Just installed iOS 9 - and after that lost connection with my cellular network - "NO SERVICE". I tried everything, restored the entire phone - NOTHING! I can't use my phone anymore.

Please help!

I did something that worked for my iPhone hopefully it works for your's too.

1. Remove SIM car tray completely.

2. Than go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. (While the SIM car is still out)

The phone will reset the network than reboot. After the phone has rebooted than re-enter SIM card.

This worked for me I hope it works for everyone else.

My iPhone 5 suddenly had the "NO Service" / "Searching..." problem this past weekend. I tried all the suggestions from the forums (airplane mode, holding power and home keys, sim in/out, dozens of on/offs, etc...). I got on the phone with AT&T tech support, they had me go to a AT&T store for a new SIM card. Tried the new SIM card with no difference. The REP. at the store suggested I try a restore of the phone. Got home and updated iTunes on 2 different PCs. On the first computer I started the restore process and it gave me the popular "(-1)" error code three quarters of the way through. At that point I was like "that is weird". I tried it again after restarting the computer, shutting down all background processes and unplugging all USB devices. Still NO JOY! I went to my second computer and tried the restore again still with a new version of iTunes and double checked all the basics like the first computer. It failed at the same point with that restore attempt too. I did notice this time that it seems to fail during a "Firmware update" process with the phone as stated by the iTunes process window. Now the phone will not come on at all except for the cord going up to a iTunes logo on a black screen. I've searched all over the internet to try to at least get the phone back on with no avail. I called Apple Tech. support with no help at all. In fact, they act like they've NEVER heard of such a problem ever. This *****, they put out updates that screw people's phones up and then act like its an isolated problem and kiss *** so you don't go buy a different manufacturer's phone. I guess at 3 years they just expect us to buy a new phone from them? Screw that, I'm going shopping for an Android phone!

if anyone still has this issue,

Iphone 5s IOS 9.2

i had it first last night, (not funny at all i feel your pain)

Did everything you guys mentioned, nothing worked.

Like majumdar, more or less, the last thing i did was restoring to factory settings, set it up as a new iphone, still i had no service,

Following i turned off the wi-fi and the mobile data that are on after the restoring, and performed another Reset to the Network Settings, and got the service back.

So perhaps the new IOS installed and a Network settings reset might do the trick.

Thanks to all.

My iPhone 6 - 64Gb was working fine everywhere for about 6 months, I updated to IOS 9.2.1 one day and "no service/searching" message appeared on screen and I can not use it to make or receive phone calls.

I have done:

- Restored to factory condition with IOS 9.2.1

- I replaced the SIM card with a new one

- I restored network configuration

- Upgraded to IOS 9.3

- I read a lot of the same problem on internet "no Apple response", "No help at all for this issue"

When the iPhone was restored with IOS 9.2.1 the phone was working fine about 15 minutes. ("no service/searching" message appeared again).

When I erased some applications with IOS 9.2.1 the phone was working fine about 15 minutes. ("no service/searching" message appeared again).

When I upgraded to IOS 9.3 the phone was working fine about 15 minutes. ("no service/searching" message appeared again).

Running out of ideas...

Any help to resolve my problem please?

Thank you in advance

This solution works reliably on my iPad2 (ATT).

It appears that if you boot the device with the cellular radio disabled, then enable it, you will have service until the next reboot. (Then just repeat the following procedure) . . .

1. Put iPad / iPhone into Airplane Mode.

2. Reboot iPad / iPhone

3. When the device comes back up turn Airplane Mode off.

Voila! Service is back.

Again - if the phone/pad is rebooted with the cellular radio enabled you will be back in the same spot - Switch off the radio (Use airplane mode, or on a pad you can turn off cellular data) reboot, then switch the cellular radio back on.

Hope this helps until Apple fixes this glitch.
