iCloud Backup Broken After iOS 9 Upgrade

iCloud Backup on both my iPhone and iPad have been working fine for years until I upgraded to iOS 9. After the upgrade it said my latest backup was "Never". When I pressed "Backup Now" the progress bar flashed quickly then went back to saying my latest backup was "Never" (no error messages).

I decided to try turning iCloud Backup off and back on again. When I try to turn in on it says "iCloud Backup Failed. There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup.".

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix?

I have this problem too immediately after updating my iPad mini retina (model ME280LL/A) after upgrading to iOS 9.

previous version was 8.4.1

I have just completed a backup before the upgrade.

guess I better not update any of my other iDevices?

This is an major problem.

I had the same issue many are seeing:

- old 8.4 backup prior to upgrade

- inability to backup to iCloud via WIFI ("could not be completed")

- old 8.4 backup shows no data and can not be deleted on your iOS device

I've seen many solutions for folks with this same issue, found simply changing the name of my phone (settings>general>about) actually worked for me. It created a new full backup under the new phone name and for some reason, replaced the old backup that had no data.

Good luck

My iCould backups have not worked since I upgraded to ios9. They were fine until Wednesday afternoon of Sept 16th, the time of my upgrade, and have failed since. My iCloud storage wasn't bumped from 20bg to 50gb till the next day, so it really seems to me that the upgrade to ios9 was the culprit in this. This is not a small problem, so I hope Apple addresses it soon.

My iPhone 5s backed up to iCloud with no issues.

Notes are not in an iCloud backup, they are just in iCloud. If you go to iCloud.com you can see your Notes. These same notes will be pushed to any device that is signed into the same iCloud account with Notes turned on.

Camera Roll photos are in an iCloud backup, but Photo Stream photos are not. If you are using iCloud Photo Library, then your photos are on iCloud not in your iCloud backup.

Game data is stored in your iCloud backup. If you have had to reset your device to Factory Settings, then you are correct, you need your iCloud (or an iTunes) backup to restore your game data.

I have tried all suggestions from this post and this another one. No luck at all.

My iPhone 6 can't backup but the iPhone from my wife is backing up normally. We have almost the same apps and use the same network.

Sad is that appears that since the iOS9 GM a lot of users is experiencing this same issue, even though Apple release the update from all users anyway. I really hope that Apple fix this soon.

Another very strange detail: When i go to Settings > ICloud > Storage > Manage Storage the letter of some apps is not properly displayed:
