Can't respond to texts after iOS 9 update

To make sure that only your phone will get the calls, go to Settings/Phone and deactivate "On other devices" in the Calls section.

Same for FaceTime and Messages. Only your phone number or mail address should be selected on your device, and not on your wife's phone.

Go to Settings/FaceTime/Receive at/ and Settings/Messages/Receive at/ to check that.

I have seen this as well, though I don't think the problem is "solved". I think there is a bug in iOS 9 that needs to be fixed. I have found 2 temporary "fixes" that seem to work well.

1. Reboot the phone (this can be a pain due to how long it takes, and yes the problem will come back)

2. Double press the main hardware button to launch the task manager, Find the messages app, Swipe upward to close the app. This is the quickest "fix", but eventually the issue will return until Apple addresses the issue with an update.

Go to settings, then phone and then disable calls on other devices.

This worked for me. I then went back to settings and turned subject field/line off and all is right with the world again. 😝

Dble click the home button, swipe text program off, restart texting and the 0:00 will be gone. For a while at least.

This needs fixing.

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone.

If the phone works as before the update, restore from the latest backup. If the problem comes back, the backup data contained corrupt data, causing your issues.

If it still does not work, the phone has to be checked by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider

iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support

I've already reset my iPhone and still cannot send of call.

If setting it back to factory settings does not solve the call problem, you should get it checked by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
