Unable to Install iTunes 12.3. Getting error as Contact package vendor.

i am Installing iTunes 12.3. During installation i am getting error message as "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.A programme required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor". I have downloaded iTunes 2-3 times thinking as may be some error during download. But same error continues. Even it not showing which programme require to complete installation.... Please help.

I am installing iTunes on Windows 7 - 64bit version.

Hey Dude,

I got the same prob and did all these people said but nothing...

The best way is to uninstall your itunes and what so ever related to apple..

download the itunes 12.2.2 via http://www.redmondpie.com/download-itunes-12.2.2-for-windows-and-mac-os-x/

install and enjoy 🙂 After running itunes and connecting your device IGNORE and CLOSE the message for updating

I still had issues with all this crap, yet I resolved it a different way and some people could try this. I went to this Apple - Support - Downloads.

Downloaded version 10.6.3 for Windows 64 Bit.

Unpacked it with 7Zip, and ran the Apple Software Update.msi

It was the only version that I got to work, and once that was installed I could install 12.3 just fine.

Hope this helps anyone else having this issue because for me AppleSoftwareUpdate wasn't even on my PC. Don't know why, but I couldn't repair it because of that, so try this.

Control Panel, Apple Software Update > Repair.

Reinstall iTunes6464Setup.exe (Win7 x64)

Thanks!

It was unexpected that this worked because I was focused on iTunes, not any other Apple components.

I was trying to update iTunes - gave in when it came up with the "Download & Install"; didn't work. (Now I remember why I always click "No" ...)

Repair iTunes then reinstall; didn't work.

Uninstall iTunes, then reinstall; didn't work.

Try to unistall Apple Software Update (as per the Apple KB page); didn't work, same generic 'not our problem' error message as when iTunes failed to install.

And then, thanks forums!, "Repair" the Apple Software Update didn't fail, Reinstall iTunes, worked!

Same problem with using REPAIR in Windows 10; it doesn't work. I even tried uninstalling Apple Software Update, but to no avail. The solution: Go to REGEDIT. Click Find. Type in the following: Apple Software Update. Delete the file. Repeat same until you delete all references to Apple Software Update. There may also be a folder called Apple Software Update. Delete that too.

With that message try repairing Apple Software Update then remove it. You should then be able to install iTunes as normal. If you are unable to repair Apple Software Update see the Microsoft tool mentioned in note 1 to the second box, or use the steps given in Install missing components to uninstall all that can be uninstalled and then install the individual components.
