I upgraded my iPhone 6 / 64GB from iOS 8 to iOS9 today and the Siri is muted. I able to use Siri features but there is no sound (she doesn't speak at all). Same thing happens on notification sound. Sometime I get notification sound 'Beep' on WhatsApp new message sometimes don't.
is this a bug?

Same problem. Siri is mute in my language (Italian) but it works if I change it with other languages. It works fine only the first day. In whatsapp I've the same bug.
I updated to iOS 9 and my sounds and Siri were fine. I saw the iOS 9.0.1 saying that it fixed muted sound notifications, and even though that was not a problem I was having, I had to take the update anyway. And, my sound notifications then went mute.
Sigh. This is really screwing my life up. Apple, please fix. Thanks.
Here's what fixed me. Went to settings->Do Not Disturb and turned it off. For some reason the update turned it on. Hope your solution is as simple.

Already checked the do not disturb setting and it's off but still no notification sound.

Same here. It's so annoying as it does the same not only with WhatsApp messages but with WhatsApp calls. It's not ringing on an incoming call you just see the notification on your screen as a missed call.
I See the posts stopping about 10 days ago on this thread.Has anyone fixed it? iOS 9.1.2 didn't fix mine...
Same problem with WhatsApp ..... sporadic sound notifications, mostly not. Is there yet a fix for this?
