I'm having he same issue. Everyone else's device and my iPad are connected perfect no matter where I'm to at home. Unless I'm standing directly by my router or in the room above it i can't get signal. I've reset my network settings and reset my phone with no luck. Im thinking it has to do with the update to iOS 9. i never had a hitch until I updated to it. I hope Apple comes out with an update to resolve this issue.

Has been tried along with setting the channel and testing anything else that could be the issue. Again, why are you so resistant to the obvious answer which has now been reported hundreds of times based on my basic searching. Only happened after iOS upgrade, doesn't happen with any other devices. Routers have been reset and much debugging has been attempted. How about acknowledge the issue and hope an engineering team fixes it asap. Oh and btw its not just on one wifi network....

That is new information, and it contradicts your initial statement "I have the exact same issue," as the OP said the problem was fixed by rebooting. And Matt the Rock didn't post again after I suggested rebooting the router, so it's safe to assume that his problem is fixed. Have you tried all the steps here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support?

If you have tried all of those then take it to an Apple store for diagnosis.

Come on, user your head. If there was "clearly" a software issue with iOS 9 there would be millions that are posted to support forums, not hundreds. There are hundreds of posts a week on almost every issue imaginable. And I challenge you on the "hundreds." I've seen perhaps a dozen or two, no more than I see almost daily on every issue, independent of any iOS update.

Have you followed the steps in Apple's support note yet?

As you are so convinced that there is an endemic problem with iOS, and you aren't willing to consider any other possibility, you need to communicate that to Apple, not waste your time posting here where Apple won't see it in this user-to-user support forum. http://apple.com/feedback. Or take it to an Apple store, or call Applecare support.

My iPhone 6 has been randomly dropping my home wifi connection and only my home wifi connection for about a month now. I'm not sure if it started happening after the initial iOS 9 or subsequent point releases. I have a slew of other iPhones, iPads and iPods, none of which are dropping the home wifi connection, all of which show strong connections throughout the house, all of the time. I had guests over Thanksgiving with their devices, both iOS and Droid, all connected no problem and stayed connected without issue. I have a number of other wireless devices throughout the house, none have had any issues with our home wifi network whatsoever. In any case, I have rebooted the modem/router many, many times. I have restored the iPhone 6 from factory, several times. Wi-Fi Assist is off and has been off throughout. To the best of my knowledge, the problem does not occur with networks other than my own, but I'm not a "road warrior" and don't spend a lot of time on other networks in general. The issue continues. When it does happen, the Wifi settings option on my iPhone 6 shows NO other available networks, not my home network, not any of my neighbors, none. The only solution for me right now is to simply reboot the iPhone 6, which works each and every time, but that's not really a solution. I have been working closely with an Apple Care representative for weeks, they are just about out of solutions and are suggesting options that would have me replacing my iPhone at a substantial cost. Aside from a few posts on this thread, I seem to be one of the few people having this issue, so my guess is that it is hardware or firmware related, and specific to my phone or a small batch of iPhones, something that has suddenly popped up or was there all along and got triggered by the iOS 9 release. In any case, it's not going away, I'm up for any and all suggestions, otherwise I'll be buying a "new" iPhone 6 soon. Thanks.

Under iOS 8 as long as the device was connected to power, it would never drop the Wi-Fi connection – no matter if cellular data was turned on or off

in fact, I think under iOS 8, it kept the Wi-Fi connection going even if you were not on DC power and charging

The problem with iOS 9 is, once you lock the phone, it drops the Wi-Fi connection with in about 60 seconds – and turning off Wi-Fi assist does not help ... This completely destroys several features of iOS 9 like forwarding your phone calls from your phone to one or more tablets attached to your iTunes/iCloud account because if the devices are not on Wi-Fi, the phone will not ring FaceTime audio on one or more iPads .. I have two iPads… The iPad Pro Wi-Fi plus cellular 128 GB, and my older iPad air 2 128 GB with Wi-Fi and cellular

With all the devices dropping off of Wi-Fi, text forwarding also does not work either. It also breaks the ability to make a phone call from your iPad using your iPhone over Wi-Fi

This issue did not seem president and iOS 9 .0… It seemed to have cropped up somewhere between 9.1 and 9.2… Apple simply needs to add a feature under settings asking the user if they want Wi-Fi to remain on after the device is locked to sabe power or not

I work out of my house and my iPads are on DC power 99% of the time – except for once a month when I drain the battery completely dead and charge them back up.

Only curtain way to keep them on Wi-Fi after being locked is to have an app that is actively using Wi-Fi while the device is locked, and no app really does that… Splashtop streamer would as that can be configured to maintain the Wi-Fi/data connection when in background or the screen is locked… But I shouldn't have to do that

Who won my devices go to check email every 15 minutes for fetching, they do not turn on the Wi-Fi to do it – they use my cellular data, and if I have cellular data turned off, email is not pushed or fetched just because Wi-Fi is turned off and the device has no network conductivity

Guessing Apple did this to further reduce battery drain on their devices… I realize the new iPhones have the battery saving feature, but for some reason they did not incorporate that into the iPad air two and the iPad Pro – which they should have. I also have my location information set to come from my iPhone only, and my iPads get my location info from my phone… This is because you never want each device getting your location info or that confuses find friends and other location info for your account… I would think this in itself would keep Wi-Fi connected and going

I think a lot of people just need to put pressure on Apple to stop turning off Wi-Fi when the device is locked – especially for devices like the iPads when people do not buy iPads with the cellular option. Turning off Wi-Fi when those devices locked is detrimental to their functionality

Granted I just did upgrade on my access points 802.11AC .. While I doubt that has any impact on this bug, I will try setting my routers to Wi-Fi and mode and see if the connection drops… If it does not then that means it has something to do with iOS and Wi-Fi AC… Wi-Fi AC uses Constant 866 Mb full-duplex connection to your access point, and for the phones it's exactly half that 433 Mb because the phones have one less antenna than the iPads

Every iPhone since the beginning of iPhone Time 8 1/2 years ago has dropped WiFi when they phone goes to sleep or standby. Every one, every version of iOS. It does this because WiFi, unlike cellular data, uses power continuously, whether data transfer is happening or not. So if WiFi stayed on the phone's battery would run down quickly while on standby. Every iPhone also has kept WiFi on if connected to power, as do current iPhones on iOS 9.1. As I was intrigued by your post, I tested again, and again confirmed the behavior I described. My phone's WiFi stays on if the phone is connected to power. I also know this because I charge my phone overnight, every night (and I recommend that everyone do this), and my phone backs up to iCloud around 3 AM every night over WiFi.

If yours is not behaving like this there is something wrong with your device, your power source, or your WiFi network.
