I recently upgraded to IOS 9. Game Center has reactivated itself; issues pop-up messages and enables people to "challenge me". I do not want this - I find it annoying.
How do I disable Game Center, or at least turn it off?

Hey thanks, As I read down through the threads I tried everything. Nothing worked until your suggestion. This one worked for my ipad with iOS 9.3.2 . A really big thanks!
THese steps worked for me to eliminate the Game Center popup (bty I'm renning 932 on ipda):
o. Log in to game center
o. Then force a restart of ipad by holding in simultaneously the Home and Sleep/Awake buttons for about 10 secs., or until the Apple logo appears.
o Restart ipad and, at least on my ipad, the GC logo doesn't appear. . .
George has it right, his suggestion solved it for me.
Go to Settings, then Notifications. Find Game Center in the list of Apps. Turn off Allow Notifications.
