Same here but even worse. All my photos on my iPhone and iPad are now all messed up chronogically. Plus, even my iCloud is messed up. I can not delete photos without an error message. So, everything is in a holding pattern and "locked" for me. My total number of photos says 13,997, however, I know for a fact I have less than 6,000 on each device, so somehow the cloud is giving me the total amount. Can the cloud store numerous libraries? Apple says no. I have had this issue elevated up the apple care stream to engineering, and it's been there for 2 months. Apple finally admitted there is a big problem, and apparently they are coming out with a "fix" in an upcoming update, but no indication when that will be. And fixes and updates usually create more problems. I am furious that apple decides how my photos are managed without any warning or explanation. They have made photo management incredibly complicated, and I'm fairly tech savvy. It took my DSLR photos files from my laptop and put them on my iPhone and iPad with the latest iOS 8/9 updates. REally??? I keep different photos on each device, and no one at Apple can explain how the iCloud Photo Library works for this set up. Then mix in photo stream, and upload to iCloud, and on and on, with no clear explanation. Apparently iCloud photo stream will sync all devices equally (but I want different photos on each device, not all the same)... I'm afraid of losing photos permanently now when my device syncs, and I guess I have to pick one device to sync with iPhoto on the cloud. It's a big huge mess at Apple, and I'm resentful how many hours I've spent with apple care, and trying to sort through and figure all this out. None of this would have happened under Steve Jobs leadership. My love relationship with Apple is under serious scrutiny. One thing positive I can say for Microsoft Windows... They make photo management an easy no brainier. Apple, please work out your bugs before you release new iOS and updates. This ISN"T FAIR!!!
