Game Center not working since upgrading iPad 2 to iOS 9

Since updating to iOS 9 have been unable to load Game Center. The application starting in its own just leaves a white screen.

if you select Game Center from the settings menu, just get a spinner.

this prevents a number of games loading.

similar issue reported here http://forums.imore.com/ios-9/340783-i-downloaded-ios-9-now-game-center-doesn-t- work-what-could-problem.html

the iPad has created its backup since the installation, so do not feel like doing a factory reset yet.

I have tried that, and in fact I always use my double tap on home button before I stop using the iPad. I used this before doing anything else you had suggested earlier. I have had an email from the Apple support team advising: "Apple Engineering has received reports of this symptom with the Game Centre and are investigating and will revert back to you as soon as possible.

Further updates, if any, may come by way of a software update, knowledge base article or software release."

Sergzak: Thanks for trying to help, but we can't sign out of Game Center because the Settings->Game Center just freezes, so we can't actually change anything.

I think Apple is going to have to fix this with an iOS update. Nothing on the user's end seems to fix it.

NOTE: I am using a brand NEW 2015 iPad Mini 4 with iOS 9.0.2 installed (official updates only, NOT beta or anything).

OK guys, understood...looks like a wait/fix from Apple themselves is due. Sorry I couldn't help out. Hope it gets resolved soon.

BTW, I have a Game Center issue unlike yours...I'm hounded every day to sign in despite cancelling it every day. It used to "stick" but now it does not. Annoying but at least my kid and & are not locked out of Game Center games.

I Spent 2 full days trying the hard reset and many other options with no luck.

SO then I hooked my iPad to my computer and backed up my iPad, copied all my photos and checked what games I could to make sure they were connected to Facebook or other backup solutions such as Kabam, (which I do on a regular basis anyway).

I then reset my iPad to NEW. After reset finished, I logged back in as myself and re-added all my games and apps. This process used a WHACK of my monthly allotted internet usage, but if you re-add your apps from itunes on your computer, it will cut back on the amount of internet used.

THIS WORKED FOR ME BUT I DID LOSE ONE GAME.

I Considered using my backup to reset the iPad but by this point I was too frustrated to deal with it if it did not work. It might work.... Not sure.

Thankfully the game that I lost was one that I have not spent real money on and scarcely play.

I Hope this helps some of you. I have another iPad in the family but am holding off on updating until we hear from Apple that the issue is solved.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

I have an option, you may not like this option, if you are playing games on this tablet you could lose data. Backup everything to your PC and iCloud (if you have one.) sign out of Apple ID, when you are logged into Game Center you are logged in with your Apple ID. If you have iCloud take next step to sign out of iCloud.

Next, go to settings erase all content and all settings. Once it's complete restore from Backup. Let it complete its process. You should get it back as you bought it. Save your passcode, as you would have to re-setup again. Figuring out everything after that you lost in game levels of the games you are playing then you need to contact the game developer to log back you in with your username and level you are at.

Right Tapper, things didn't change! This is rediculas! Why should we have to go through all these different methods to get our Game Center back! It's Apple who fauled the program, they should fix It! Never, Never again will I ever dl another Apple device as long as I live!! I'm looking at a forgien manufacture at this very moment to upgrad my Old and outdated iPad 2...thereby removing amy on-occurring issues everyiime this company wants to make more improvements ($$$) on their So-called Progressive Programing of IOS!!! I hate buying from another nation, but Apple you have left me no alternative...

this is is my final post, I'm done here, and I'm done with APPLE!!!!!

Finally!!!!! For me I got the iOS9.0.2 update through on my iPad 2 this evening and although to get in to Game Center at 1st took a while, I am finally signed in and I am also able to play my Game Center - linked games. I first had problems after I downloaded 9.0.1 on Saturday/Sunday, and its taken until tonight to get it fixed.

Hope everyone else on here has the same success. Good luck everyone 🙂
