I have the same problem. When I open the calendar app on my iPad and go into week view, it only shows 5 days, yet in daily and monthly it has 7 days. I don't get it. Is this a glitch or a 'new feature' in iOS 9?

Maybe they should do like they did with the Shorter Oxford dictionary (in two volumes) and sell every iPad with a magnifying glass. (Tongue in cheek)

II've had the same problem ever since the ios9 update. But I want a fix that takes it back to being as it was, being able to see 7 days in the "week" view not 5, without having to resort to self-fixes that end up shrinking the text. my eyesight won't be able to cope with that. Come on Apple. Fix this. (I phoned up Apple and they suggested I back up my iPad onto pc, then restore it to factory settings, then restore it back to my "back-up". I did all that, but it didn't fix the bug.😟

after both changing to smaller font (which certainly feels like an unacceptable fix for the bug in the first place) and restarting both the app as well as the ipad, I still only get four days in week view. no matter how silly the situation, at least the old "week cal" app still works, albeit not free ... =/

HI,

THis is definitely a bug that has occurred with ios9 update. I updated my daughter's iPad to ios9.1 and she now has the same problem on her calendar app, though hers is stuck showing 5 days in week-view, whereas mine is stuck showing only 4 days. Neither scenario is acceptable. I've been waiting for uodates that might fix this bug but I've now updated to 9.1 and still no fix. I have contacted Apple support And made them aware that others are having the same problem since updating to ios9.

I have tried all the following to no avail:

  • closing then restarting the calendar app
  • powering off the iPad and restarting it
  • Via iTunes, I have firstly backed up my iPad onto my PC, then restoring the iPad to factory settings, and then restored it with my saved back-up.

Interestingly, when the iPad is restored to factory settings, it was FIXED!!!! Seven days in my week view again. even though the Restored iPad had ios9.1 software. This means the bug must lie in the ios9 update that I downloaded at first, in early September, and it is now somehow stuck to the data that gets saved when I do a back-up and then try restoring from my back-up. the iPad itself works fine with the calendar app in week view showing 7 days when it is in factory settings mode.

So, now I feel there is nothing for it but to fix this myself as I can't hang around for Apple to create a bug-fix. It's driving me mad not to be able to see a whole 7 days in week view. My plan is to make a note of all my apps and their layouts on the screen, and then I'm going to wipe my iPad by restoring to factory settings. It should then have a calendar that works fine, and have ios9.1 I'll then have to go to the App Store and download all my apps one by one. A real pain, by at least that way I'll get my calendar to work properly and get the problem fixed.

I'll update this thread on the outcome after I've done it.

Yes, this has worked. Have now got my iPad, with ios9.1 software and got rid of the bug in the calendar. I now have 7 days in my week view and my iPad with all its apps and data just as it was. Took me about an hour though!

What I did was this (like I explained in my comment above):

  1. Make a note on phone (or paper) of all the apps you have on ipad (and their position on the screens if that is important to you. It was to me!) and any wallpaper you have etc.
  2. Connect ipad to pc using usb cable
  3. get iTunes up on PC
  4. show details of iPad by clicking on device symbol (near top left of iTunes window, with icon of iPad)
  5. under "Backups", select "iCloud" and then select "Back Up Now". This will do an iCloud back up of any iCloud data (eg calendar, notes, pages etc)
  6. under device name, where it says ios9.1, select "restore iPad..." (It stated that my software was up to date. You may need to check for update, I don't know)
  7. ipad is then restored
  8. when given the choice, select "restore as new ipad" as opposed to restore from a back-up. This is because I found the bug causing only 4 or 5 days to be shown in week view was somehow "stuck" to my back-up data. (See my previous comment/reply expalining evidence of that)
  9. Go through process of setting up ipad, signing in with Apple ID will download all iCloud data saved earlier.
  10. download apps previously purchased and position on screens as they were before, and set wallpaper as before etc.

IT has taken a while, and I'm not happy with Apple causing a bug on ios9 to do this to my calendar. What a pain. But at least I have fixed it (took about an hour) and I used it as an opportunity to do some general housekeeping on my apps. I couldn't wait weeks and weeks (or months?) till Apple did a bug fix on this; it was driving me mad!

Hope this helps people. I've now got to do the whole thing on my daughter's iPad as hers has the same problem since I updated it to ios9 as an experiment to see if it caused the same calendar week view problem on hers. It did!

😢 Oh no! It didn't solve the issue after all. It seemed like had. I had the iPad all perfectly set up again after having laboriously followed the steps as detailed in my previous comment, and had 7 days in my "week" view. But then.... I was trying to read my emails, realised the text was smaller than they used to be, realised I used to have an enlarged text size (under 'Display and Brightness' in settings), so I chose a larger text size.... back to having only 5 days in my weekly view on my calendar. So, what I thought had solved the issue, really hadn't. The issue is only apparent when in larger font sizes, which I should have realised from the comments on this thread.

I have phoned Apple support 3 times now. They have tried very hard to help but there's nothing that can be done as it's fundamental software issue. The last Apple support worker suggested I mention it on "www.apple.com/feedback" which I have done, selecting "bug" so hopefully they will address it in an update soon. I suggest everyone on this thread does the same to create a swell of opinion that might get them addressing the problem sooner.
