ios 9 stuck at slide to upgrade

ios 9 has glitched on both my ipod and iphone. It says the update is complete and installed, but I am stuck at a white screen that says slide to upgrade.

I have connected both devices to iTunes on my computer and both have been recognized. I am unable to restore from my last backup, because I can not disable find my ipod, on the actual ipod. Same with the iphone.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

For how to restore:

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

To restore from backup see:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I had this problem with an iPhone 4s. I just updated to 9.0.1 and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Sorry I can't remember exactly how it worked, but IIRC, I was able to do the update by powering off the phone, powering it on, and then applying the 9.0.1 update _before_ getting to the stuck screen.

When the phone was stuck, I believe the sequence for me after powering on was:

1) Hello screen

2) Slide to upgrade

3) Enter passcode

4) Upgrade is applied (takes a minute or 2)

5) Stuck on 2nd 'Slide to upgrade' screen

As long as I made it start the update (or restore from backup, etc.) during step 4, before it got to step 5, it seemed to allow it. And now, with the 9.0.1 OS, the problem has been fixed. The phone is working correctly.

This is a vexing problem to be sure, and I spent many hours today trying to solve it. Here's what worked:

My iTunes was NOT updated to the latest version -- which (as of Sept. 28, 2015) is 12.3. Disconnect the iPhone 6s. Update your iTunes software to 12.3. Reset your computer after it has updated. Then, reset the iPhone 6S (or 6S+) by holding down the on/off button (upper-right side of phone) and main button (bottom-center front) for 10 seconds until the iPhone goes blank/black. Then, with newly rebooted computer running iTunes 12.3, connect the iPhone 6s to the computer and follow all the prompts (don't be tempted to shortcut the process, or succumb to impatience). Eventually -- and this could be more than 1 hour -- the steps you could not get through earlier will start popping up. Follow all prompts -- and BE PATIENT. Definitely hard to do, but vital.

Best wishes and good luck!

whether using these modes existing data can be saved? Because i haven't back up my data in icloud.

I had following these steps from If your iOS 9 device is stuck on Slide to Upgrade - Apple Support:

"1. Connect your iOS device to a computer. Then make sure that iTunes is open.

2. While your device is connected, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.

3. When asked, choose Update."

After downloading it's next to backing up, but it's took so long time approximately 5 hours without a progress. So i disconnect my ipod from the itunes. And now i try to manually back up the data to the pc by connect my ipod to itunes, but it's stuck about 15 hours in step 3 (transferring purchases). I do not know what I should do more to restore my ipod as before and save the data. Please help me

Personally, I feel so burned by the iOS 9.0 upgrade process, it'll be a while before I attempt that again. As in, at least 9.2.something... The fact that these upgrades are irreversible, the poor track record Apple has with them, and the room for other issues (saw a recent post about a new get-past-locked-screen exploit re iOS 9, plus word of mouth about issues w/ VPN) -- it all adds up to my being very wary of upgrading. I'd been cautious this way in the past, and it had paid off. I foolishly lowered my guard with iOS 9, and now have a no-going-back iPhone 4s. All my other iOS-using devices, I plan on waiting it out til iOS 9 looks more stable. Not eager to be a beta tester...
