iOS9 Airdrop to Mac not working

Trying to connect iPhone 6+ iOS9 to 2013 iMac OS X 10.10.5 via Airdrop but not showing up on iMac or iPhone, worked perfectly before iOS 9.

iPhone can Airdrop to another iPhone and iMac can Airdrop to another Mac, but not iPhone to/from Mac.

iOS update was originally done OTA and have reinstalled through iTunes.

Have tried all suggestions I have come across but still they won't connect.

Anyone have similar problems?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 21.5 in 2.9GHZ i5 16 GB

I would like to share my method which I got it worked on my Macbook Pro Retina (mid 2012), but doesn't work on the Macbook Pro (mid 2012).

Service Center replaced my iPhone 6+ due to some issue and then I updated to iOS9. After updated to iOS9, my Macbook Pro Retina is no longer show up in iOS AirDrop. Did my research and tried many method, I got it work, below are the method I have tried and got it working again.

Reset PRAM

  1. Shutdown Macbook
  2. Turn On Macbook and Press & Hold these key: Cmd+Opt+P+R (release after you hear the boot sound)

Delete Bluetooth Preference File

  • Remove "com.Apple.Bluetooth.plist" at .../Library/Preferences. And then reboot system.

Network, Set Service Order

  1. Go to System Preference > Network
  2. Click Setting (gear symbol) below > Set Service Order.
  3. Click on drag to re-order the list by moving "Bluetooth PAN" to the Top as First, and move "Bluetooth DUN" as second.

Sharing Option

  1. Go to System Preference > Sharing
  2. Tick and enable the "Bluetooh File Sharing" option (i have got another "File Sharing" enabled too)

Disable Firewall (testing purpose only)

  1. Go to System Preference > Security & Privacy
  2. Firewall tab > Turn Off

In addition, sometime, iOS9 is still not seeing my Macbook in AirDrop. What I do? make sure my Macbook is active at "AirDrop" discovery by everyone. And then I just open up the Bluetooth setting page, THEN iOS9 will detected my Macbook.

I would not be able to assure the methods above will work for yours, I just hope to help out and share the method works for my case. If necessary, please do the backup or remember the setting before make change.

I have same problems since iOS 9 on my iPhone 6 and iPad mini. I have now installed El Capitan on my Macbook Pro but it is no better. I cannot use Airdrop, nor connect to Bluetooth. My iPhone and iPad continue to Airdrop between the two devices fine. But I need to Airdrop to my MBP. So frustrating, I hope Apple fix this soon. I am relieved it is not only me having problems!

I have the same problem.

I have an iPad Air and a Late 2013 iMac. Both devices are normally capable of airdrop, but no combination seems to work now.

I have iOS 9 and El Capitan. iOS 9 and Yosemite combination wasn't working, either.

Logic remote and handoff seem to work fine.

I also have a mac mini, but it's in a different place, so I can't check now.
