iOS9 Airdrop to Mac not working

Trying to connect iPhone 6+ iOS9 to 2013 iMac OS X 10.10.5 via Airdrop but not showing up on iMac or iPhone, worked perfectly before iOS 9.

iPhone can Airdrop to another iPhone and iMac can Airdrop to another Mac, but not iPhone to/from Mac.

iOS update was originally done OTA and have reinstalled through iTunes.

Have tried all suggestions I have come across but still they won't connect.

Anyone have similar problems?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 21.5 in 2.9GHZ i5 16 GB

Same problem

MBP 15/2014 OS El Capitan

iPhone 6 iOS 9.0.2

Mac and iPhone don't see each others.

Poor Apple!!!!! It's terrible that BASIC functionality is not working!!

I paid 800 Euro for iPhone and 2000 Euro for Macbook Pro 15 and this pice of... not working!!!

I'm photographer, and I need to send pictures from my MBP to my iPhone, and I can't do this because Apple can't make BUGFIX at all!!! They only think about INCREDIBLE SALES OF IPHONE, Incredible sales of WATCH, but they don't think about SOFTWARE !!!!!! They think only about MONEY, and MARKETING.

u have right... no doubt.. i paid too for not working function! and this is so frustrating.. but for your work u can use the iCloud photo library.. u can sync your pic between devices in automatic mode... just another tips for your work 😉 but this not exclude that we have paid for NOT WORKING FUNCTION like airdrop!!!! I'm tired to do beta tester... I'm very tired...

I contacted Apple via Apple Chat and told them about the problem, this was before El Capitan was released. I still continue to have the same problem with El Capitan on my MBP 13" Retina (most recent one) and my iPhone 5 with 9.0.2.

They asked me to force restart my iPhone and to run a special command on my MBP whilst it was turned off. After that (and after a good hour of trying numerous things) we got it working, however it was only at that moment that it worked, as when I tried it later that day it did not work anymore.

To this day, it hasn't worked again and I am really annoyed because there is definitely something wrong. I am not sure Apple has been made aware but they need to find a fix ASAP. There seems to be no way for us to fix it, the fix needs to come from Apple in the form of a new updated version of iOS 9 as we all seem to think this is happening since we all updated to the new iOS.

I've faced the problem since i updated my iPhone 5s to 9 , i had 10.10.5 on my MBP 15" retina , then after updating to 9.0.2 and updating my MBP to 10.11 i'm still having the same problem , my iPhone and MacBook can't find each other .

I tried hard reset on iPhone and still no luck but a strange thing i experienced is that sometimes after about 10 mins MBP shows my phone but when i try to send some pictures it kept on waiting ... then if i turn of bluetooth on mac and then turn it on after short period, suddenly the transfer get completed . it happened to me two times .

I have no idea why airdrop not working as it's the main option to transfer files between mac and phone .

Hope it gets fixed ASAP

Just got off the phone to Apple. Reported the issue. Said there were loads of people with similar problems. They went through lots of tests with me, (2 machines on El Capitan and two on ios9.0.2) and agreed that it didn't work for me. and reported it to engineering.

I demonstrated with screen sharing that it worked ios to ios and el capitan to el capitan but not ios to el capitan or vice versa.

Please phone and report it to Apple directly too. The more they get the sooner this is likely to be resolved.
