i was just using my phone but then my phone stopped responding to the touch and now i can only use the buttons but i can't even turn it off because the un responsive screen.and now i can't use anything

Force restart the phone. No data will be affected when you do this. To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
The post was marked as solved, so, I guess there was a solution for their problem. Did you try a reset as suggested? What particular problem do you have and what other steps have you tried?
I just completely reset my iPhone 6 plus and now I can't set it up because of the non responsive screen.
Two weeks without a phone? I could not do my daily work without my phone. So, did they fix it?
This is exact behavior i am seeing on my phone as well 😟 Sad state that i cannot even attend calls many a times .
Have you taken it to an Apple Store? From what you describe, it does sound like a hardware failure as you were told by the place you took it.
