Force restart the phone. No data will be affected when you do this. To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I'm glad to see others having the exact same problem as my iphone 6 plus. Your description of the gray flickering bar at the top is occurring on mine as well as the unresponsive to touch, slide or anything else. For a while every 8 or 10 attempt and I might get in and my phone acted normal but it would only last for a few minutes before becoming unresponsive again. Lately I cannot get in at all. Occasionally I can answer an incoming phone call. Most times the phone does not respond to my attempts to answer. One other thing that I have not read others having is when trying to tap my passcode different numbers than what I tap light up. Even tapping delete will make one of the numbers light up. Eventually when enough numbers are accepted it says wrong passcode 'try again in a minute, then 5 then and hour'. I went to a third party support service called Geek Support who tried for three days to do a complete reset but eventually felt it is a hardware issue. They could not complete the reset or restore. Has anyone found a fix for this problem or has Apple give an accurate diagnosis?

Morning, I would say good but I'm to the point of smashing my iPhone 6 to bits! I to had unresponsive screen on occasions took it to Apple, they replaced the handset. This handset was ok for a couple of days then become even worst than the previous even to the point of the phone will not respond to mutiple touches and hold then then fire them off in one go, open various apps and do weird stuff which I've even have video off!!! So Went to Apple Store blue water on Thursday got told to do a DFU update. basically they weren't that interested as they are more interested in dealing with the customers who want to buy the new iPhone 7! So I did a DFU update and the set the phone up as a new phone! Seemed to be OK for a few hours! Go up this morning and I can't even get into the phone to respond from a reboot of the lock button and home button together!

please please someone help!!!

Same problem here. It starts with being unresponsive to slide and taps occasionally but progresses to always unresponsive. Plus I get a flickering white bar across the top of screen. I hooked up with a support business called Geeks Support and we spent a several hours over three days trying to fix it to no avail. We then tried to reinstall OS then to restore OS but my phone (iPh 6 plus) would not accept the download of the OS. At that point Geek Support believed it was a hardware issue. So I got online chat going with Apple support who agreed it was likely a hardware issue and walked me through steps to mail phone in for repairs. But when I was told it would be $329 up front I canceled the mail in repair. I was told if it did not cost $329 to repair I would be refunded the difference. But since it's obvious from all of these documented cases that Apple should know exactly what these symptoms mean and how they have been successfully repaired I should of got an upfront explanation of what causes this problem and how Apple has been repairing it. So I went ahead and purchased the iPhone 7 for I believe $749. My dead phone was between one and two years old. To Geek Support's credit they called a day after I had worked with them and offered two years of support for all phons, tablets and desktops in my household since they were unable to fix my phone. OR they were willing to refund my $200. I never expected the choice of a refund but I took it since I knew I had either another repair cost or a new phone to purchase. Geek Support was very professional and pleasant to work with. I would recommend them to anyone in need of frequent tech support (my mom for example). They are friendly and patient and i never felt mislead or pressured by them. I even got a final call from a Supervisor to tell me they had reversed the charges on my credit card.

my iPhone 6 screen is unresponsive and i can't restart is either
