iphone with IoS9 incompatible with Snow Leopard

I have an iPhone 5s running IoS9 (as well as an iPad and and iPad Mini, also running IoS9). I've updated all three over these past few days and now wish I bloody had not. The problem is the when I now try to sync them with my 2008 MacBook running Snow Leopard I can't: I am told the iPhone needs 'a newer version of iTunes', presumably because of IoS9. The trouble is - that my Macbook has the latest version of iTunes it can use - newer iTunes versions need a more recent OSX. I have just added four more CDs to my iTunes library but can now no longer sync it to transfer them to my iPhone. I know it is virtually impossible to revert to IoS8.4.1 which I had before, so what can I do? I was going to contact Apple support but they want £25. I think that's a bit thick seeing as Apple is responsible for this situation. Can anyone suggest a solution (other than 'buy yourself a newer MacBook - this one works just fine and doesn't otherwise need to be replaced).

I am in the same place. I have been enjoying 9 until I tried to sync the phone today. this is not a reason to upgrade my trust 2006 macbook!

What would happen if I just wait for the next update to ios9 and then did it with phone as recommended and not via itunes? Downgrading and back ups etc. seems like a real pain to go through, to just then update it again to 9 over the wireless and phone?

thoughts?

I think you should downgrade right away to apply the iOS9 upgrade over the air.

The incompatibility with iTunes 11.4 isn't a technical one but I guess it's a choice from Apple to force users upgrading and leave old versions of MacOS X.

My guess is that they have include in the full version of iOS9 (the one obtained thru iTunes) a test of the iTunes version to reject the one older than 12.3.

In the light OTA update, this test is missing.

If you waIt for the next minor iOS 9 update, the test already installed on your iPhone will remain.

And second, you take the risk by waiting, that the iOS 8.4.1 will not be signed by Apple anymore making the downgrade impossible.

(And final advice... People still using SnowLeopard shouldn't apply future minor iOS9 updates, even OTA, as I'm afraid the iTunes version test will be included)

This is my experience: I've uptated my last gen. iPod Touch to iOS 9.0 via an iTunes 12.2.2 installed on an iMac with Lion on it.

Everything works without issues and the iPod syncs, but know I hesitate to update to iOS 9.01 (or 0.2), because I'm afraid that it will not sync anymore.

My complaint is that there is no official information from Apple about the system requirements for iOS 9, so we don't know if those issues are a bug that will be fixed in the future or the end of the compatibility between iOS9 and iTunes 12.2...

iTunes 12.3 or later"

I've been looking at this post as this same thing just happened to my girlfriend this morning (Friday, Oct. 2). Yesterday she updated to iOS 9 (I don't know right now if 9.0 or 9.0.1 or 9.0.2) via iTunes over the wire, and then got the message that her phone wouldn't work with iTunes.

If I understand this thread correctly, I should downgrade her back to 8.4.1, then re-upgrade her to iOS 9 over wireless instead of connected to iTunes.

Question: does anyone know if 8.4.1 remains signed by Apple? Would it be too late to downgrade tonight (Friday, Oct. 2)?
