Iphone 5 phone screen frozen after ios 9 update. Can't see recent calls or missed calls

Hope you will release a patch for this Bug. Anways i promise now I will never upgrade to your new version atleast for six months going forwrd. Your IT team do not DO testing it seems.

Did you ever get it fixed? my phone is the same way!!

Well, I got it fixed on my own.

Follow the below given steps.

1 - Take a separate backup pf your contacts (great if it's in iCloud)

2 - Take a backup of your images (great if it's in iCloud)

3 - Erase your iPhone completely.

4 - Do not restore the backup taken by the computer.

5 - Go for a fresh start

6 - Sync the backed up images and contacts

Enjoy your error less ride now. This has truly worked for me.

I recently updated my iPhone 5 (16GB) to iOS 9.1 and all my apps seem to be working fine. However, the Phone Icon is unresponsive. After clicking the Phone icon, the screen freezes at "All Contacts" and I am unable to access "Recents", "Keyboard", "Favorites" etc. After a few seconds, the icon/app crashes. When i start it again, the problem persists. I am unable to make a single call, nor access my contacts. Kindly help me.

i have the same configuration iPhone 5 16Gb and the same problem with the phone app. its frozen and I can't see my contacts, favorites, recent calls ....

it was also not working with iOS 9.02

Any idea to fix the problem ?

1. Double click home button to show app switcher.

2. Slide preview screen of phone app up to close

3. Shut down and restart iPhone

Well the process I shared won't help to restore you messages, but my phone is working well after applying this. Please note that this was never suggested by apple support.

I do, a reset all settings and for last two days phone ikon is not frozen.

After my battery is going to 0%, recharged my iphone 5. I see that my phone ikon is frozen again.

THat is what happened to me with iOS 9.02.

I did what Guillaume advised and for the moment it works. But I did not wait yet for the battery to go to 0%.

I have the same problem on my Iphone 6s 64 gig the call screen is frozen

i could not resolve this problem on my one but I found the other way to make callswhat you can do is go to messages, press add recepient and then choose from the contact list whoever you want to call, then double click on the contact from"to" field, and here you go you ll have a button to call the contact. The same way you can add a new contact and make a call if you do not have him her in your contact list. But the recent calls history - yes still can't access it but still this will be enough until apple testers will finally do their jobs better and start testing ios releases properly.

None of this is working for me. I have many friends with the same problem. They are caving in and buying new phones.

I have three months left until I can upgrade. Arghh!
