iPhone 6 updated to ios9 screen goes black when I open an app

i recently updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 9. Every time I open an app now the screen goes black and I have to push the home button and click on the app again for it to work. Any fix ideas?

Yup, same here with my iPhone5S.

The blanking applications at opening, first appeared the day after installation of iOS9, when I activated the battery saver function. Turned the funciont off and there where no blanked screens when opening applications. However, it started again the day after. Reboot -> solved the issue for a few hours, then back at it again. Reset (lock+Home button) -> solves the issue of a short while.

Now it is all the time, and I've found it is USUALLY at the first opening of an application. Only way out is the home button, and when opening the application again it works…usually. Sometimes several home button actions are needed. Worst is when an application automatically calls another application, for example my banking app, that calls up an ID applications, that blanks. There is no way to manually re-open the ID app through the home button and re-open, as it has to be called upon from the banking app to work.

So far, it's been happening randomly with all sorts of applications, apple's own as well as third party ones. Cant see any correlation to specific application services like GPS or wireless connectivity.

Sound control graphics and Control centre swipe thing works fine while the application screen is blanked, so there is something preventing the desired app graphic to show. The "gene in the bottre"-effect of opening and closing an app is visible, and just when the app reaches full screen, the blanking issue occurs.

Please fix quickly!!

The blanking out of the shortcuts to camera, calculator and timer from the Control Center (swipe upwards from bottom) was a known problem in iOS8 already. Actually for me this is fixed in iOS9 for the moment at least.

Although no proof I believe this bug is caused/triggered by having a Microsoft Exchange account active on your iPhone; at least I have never seen an iPhone with this issue that did not have an Exchange account active.

However, this issue is unrelated to the black-screen issue described above, because I did have the Control Center issue, but did not have the black-screen problem which I do in iOS9.

For four days now I have had a issue with my Iphone 6 Plus. I can not make calls nor can I recieve or send text messages. I have spoken with a tech over the phone that stated that I need to get a new phone. Okay no problem I can deal with that, But mail turn around wasn't a good fit for me so I opted to go to the Apple store. My appointment was at 630, it was almost 8pm before I was seen. The tech reset my phone back to new, while I was there it worked fine. Now today again I can't text nor can I make calls. I spoke with the tech again on the phone that said let me get you to the store manager so we can expidite a appointment. The store manager informed me that the next appointment he could get me was Sept, 29th. Really today is the 23rd, I have young kids in school and this my only phone and I just spent over three hrs in the store the day before and my issue still isn't resolved. My phone is still under warranty and I am getting the run around. My kids teacher can't even get incontact with me and no one is willing to help. I see if this was something I did wrong to the phone. But this is a hardware issue that they do not want to fix.

Hey Guys in order to replicate the issue do the following.

restart the phone (the problem dissapear)

from Locked Screen

Press the home button in order to do a voice call. or use what ever u use to do voice calls (car kit, hand free etc)

do a call that the other will answer.

close the call as you usually do.

Try to open an application that it wasn't previously oppened let say Calendar.

You get the black screen on first startup of any application

*** If you go to home and re open it it will appear ok because it was already opened.

** if you kill the application and try to reopen it you will get again the black screen.

* This also happens to the camera shortcut on locked screen

***** In order to fix it restart the phone and everything will be ok until u do a voice call.

I hope that this post will help Apple devs to create a fix for the issue.

Same here... on iphone 5...

problem starts when i use bluetooth connection with hands-free device and place a call, or when i use any lock-screen shortcut...

Once this happens, all apps (newly opened or previously open) launch for a sec and then i get a blackscreen.

App runs in the backgrouns, as by hitting the home button, the black screen disappears and i see the tabs. When i chose an app, black screen returns.

I get a feeling it has the same root cause with the iOS 8 issue with the bluetooth usage for calls (and some other triggers) that used to block all lockscreen shortcuts usage (again, black-screen once launching any shortcut app, e.g camera, calculator).

What worries me is that the iOS 8 issue never got resolved (making many iphones perform poorly and need constant restarts)....

(this epic fail happening at the same period with the iPhone 6s launch kinda makes me look on other firms as well, after maaaaaany years)
