I updated my iPhone 5 to the iOS9 and videos that I had previously recorded that were short horizontally are now cut off on the top. You can't see any faces of the people or animals. If I try to resize like a picture then it closes the video. Is there a way to correct this?

I have the same problem on my iPhone 6 Plus. Not a happy camper. My dog passed away last week and now all my videos of her are cutoff at the top 😠
i am in the same boat. Teaching iPad class and really upset when I demonstrated an iMovie I made. heads cut off!!!

I wonder if you uploaded to YouTube, they might come out as originals. So sorry about your loss.
The suggestion to click on Edit did the trick. I can now see all my videos if I take this simple step, however, Apple made a big mistake by allowing this to happen.
SOLUTION! If you use .Air Drop" to tnsfer video to another Apple device it transfers as origina!!
USED AIR DROP TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER APPLE DEVICE. IT WORKED!
it's painful at the moment but I found on iPhone if you click on your video then click edit it returns to original size only under edit though

Has anyone an idea when Apple is going to solve this issue which is known since September 2015?
click edit, then trim a teeny portion of the video off the beginning or end of the video, then click done and then trim original. The video will save in the original format. This is the easiest fix.
I see this also and have reported it as a bug.
I just noticed this today. All my iphone 5 videos are cut off at the top and are useless. How do I report this as a bug too? I want my full size videos back!
I'be had the same problem. I have been waiting for an update to fix this issue and am amazed that Apple has become so relaxed in its customer service that this would be allowed to go on for so long.

In edit mode, tap on the clip and a magnifying glass icon will appear on the right. You can then drag the video image up or down, so that a persons head is in or near the centre.
Videos are cut off on the top after iOS9 update.
