iOS 9: Cracking/Popping Noise

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone else is experiencing this issue. I use Spotify and Apple Music all the time via USB connector in my car and my wife's car. Always worked flawlessly. I updated my wife's iPhone 6 plus and my iPhone 6 to iOS 9. Right after I did that, I hear cracking and popping in the music when I'm playing it in my car and in my wife's car. I'm so disappointed and somewhat frustrated.

I'm hoping someone can help me.

Best,

Andy

Hello,

Just wondering if you ever found a solution for your earphone jack issue? I have an iPhone 6S and when connecting speakers or earphones to it to use with an App called Smule Sing, it only ever plays back my recordings with static and snowy sounds. It does not happen when using the recorder via earphones to record a voice memo - then it works just fine - so it is not the earphones (because I use the same pair in my iPhone 6 and 5S and it works perfectly fine there too with the App mentioned.

Any help will be great, thanks.

Thanks Legendmc,

Is this with your 6S, or which phone specifically? I think I'm experiencing some sort of software issue - why else would all other recording functions operate properly with my 6S but specifically not with the Smule Sing App? Just trying to determine whether it's a Smule Sing issue or Apple issue because the App works great with the standard iPhone 6 and the 5S when I'm playing back my recordings, but not with the 6S 😟

Anyway, difficult finding posts here related to my issue, exact, so was just taking my chances.

Thanks, anyway 🙂

Hi Maria,

For me, it is all of my devices running IOS 9. Which is a 5th generation iPod, an iPhone 6, and an iPhone 5.

They all have the same issue when playing music in my Chevy Tahoe. I understand that my issue, when playing through a Bose or Harmon Kardon premium vehicle sound system, using the Lightning/USB cord, they ALL snap, crackle and pop!

If I use the headphone jack and plug into the aux port, no issues... I just can't control the unit through the vehicle sound system. If I have to pick up and tune through the device, then I am breaking the law in my state (CA).

I hope this helps!

Auxiliary is fine because it is an analogue input and output signal. I ran an experiment the other day between my second generation iPod Touch, an iPod Nano and my 5S running 9.2.1. I ran the 2nd Gen iPod Touch through the 30-pin USB and the Nano and 5S went through the Lightning cable. The iPods had flawless audio through USB but my 5S sounded like a broken record.

My car is a 2016 Toyota Camry SE with the stock audio system. I ran the same tests through a 2014 Acura RDX (base model) and a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L and the results were the same. My 5S had the same pops/clicks while an ancient iPod Touch and a Nano had stellar audio output. These results were the same when the Nano and 5S were synced via Bluetooth.
