Will old iPhone 6 Plus cases work on the new 6s plus phones?

I bought the Lifeproof NÜÜD case for my iPhone 6plus & when I got the 6s plus my case fitted perfectly I'm glad to say!

Also I hardly used the case as I had problems with my 6plus & the opening at the bottom catch broke & I didn't get in touch with Lifeproof until 20months after buying it, they like Apple customer care is 2nd to none I had receipt box the lot & didn't even get charged $4.99 shipping cost.

Ok the case was £80 but ip68 rating (2metres under water & 2metre drop, dust & snow proof)

Apple & Lifeproof a little bit more expensive but the quality there's & the customer after service is 2nd to none (from my dealings with them)

I too am curious about this. I know the new apple leather case is compatible with both models. But is the old one compatible with the new 6s seeming the phone is a slight bit bigger.

Hi! Since the dimensions of new smartphones are roughly the same, I guess old cases should fit new iPhones.

It depends on the case. Cases with a bit of give shouldn't be a problem. Very inflexible cases might be.

The other issue is that there are apparently two microphones on the bottom of the new models. Some cases don't allow access to that other mic and it can result in your voice sounding muffled to listeners. Lifeproof and mophie cases seem to be ones that seem to have this problem. I suspect both vendors will have updated versions out shortly.

Some vendors have already updated packaging to indicate if the cases are compatible.

Just got my 6s Plus today and i can confirm my old Apple leather case fits fine on my new 6s Plus.

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but there are no new microphone or speaker holes in the new 6s Plus. All holes are identical to my old 6 Plus.

I got the lifeproof nuud for the 6 plus and it did not fit on the 6s plus. The case will not seal all the way around the phone. It appears that the new 6s plus model is just a bit too thick for the case to completely fit.

Holes are identical but there is an extra mic http://www.apple.com/iphone-6s/specs/ Look under External buttons and connectors section. My iPhone leather case is really tight at the base, maybe its a faulty one but the two corners bend outwards at the bottom.

There aren't more holes, just another mic behind the hole, as killhippie points out.

I can confirm both my red leather apple and black leather apple DO NOT FIT my 6sPlus contrary to apples BS. also their new ones fit so tight with new leather they bulge outward on bottom corners. check out macrumors forum for pictures of many others saying same. I went with blue on my gold ATT 64gb and already returned it once.

mine too. long forum on macrumors about this. expect apple to address it as its already 7 pages deep. give it a week or 2 and bet we see new cases as both leather and silicone Apple brand bulge out at bottom corners

Well that is really strange. My year old black apple leather case fits my 6s Plus perfectly. Fits exactly the same as it does on my old 6 Plus.

The 6s is .2 MM thicker. Otherwise size specs are the same. For flexible cases, this should not be an issue. My OtterBox Symmetry, for example, works on both. Hard shell or water tight cases could be an issue. If the manufacturer doesn't explicit stare 6s or 6s Plus), I wouldn't necessarily assume it is a fit.

many apple related sites posted that for the 6s but for 6s plus it is slightly wider and longer... google it and on you tube there are videos of others using a micrometer to measure it showing size difference on plus.

Rather than dubious google results, I think I would tend to rely on Apple's published specs.
