iPhone 6+ - IOS9 upgrade -SMS/Text Messages delayed hours

My wife is also encountering this issue when she group texts with her family, though I haven't encountered it yet.

From what I see most everyone says they have ATT. Does anyone else have a different carrier? If not the issue may lie in how ATT is handling the information.

I've concluded that the iOS 9.01/9.02 was a corrupted software for my phone. I do have ATT but I was the only one in my circle affected - mixed group of ATT and Verizon users. I've since got my phone replaced (phone warranty was about to expire). Days after I got my phone replaced, the latest iOS was available and ppl claimed their group texting issue have been resolved. I'm using the old ios 8.4 because I'm too scared to update.

Regarding the possibility of this being an ATT related issue....a few months ago, my sister, who is on the same plan, phone and iOS, had an issue with group text being intermittent to none. She went to ATT, got a new SIM card and that seemed to have resolved her issue. However, in my situation, the issue still persisted. Good luck! I am on 9.1 and still having this issue and I'm on ATT. It is getting really annoying to get messages days after the fact. Never had this issue prior to IOS9. Really regretting updating to IOS 9. If it was easier to rollback I already would have.

Thanks for confirming my reasons NOT to update, even though FaceTime is no longer working on my phone. Gotta pick my battles for now.

Same here. Got a text message two days after it was actually sent! And missed a group message today, only to see when one of the group members replied. I never got the original message. ***?

I have Verizon, have an iphone 6, have been on ios 9.1 for a while now and this issue only just cropped up for me today. Resolved by going to

Settings / Cellular / Enable LTE / set it to Data Only

I didn't even need to restart and within a minute my queued up texts started showing up.

I might soak this for a few days then see what happens when I set it back to Voice and Data.

TThanks, but witH AT&T this is not a fix. I have lte turned completely off. When I have it to data only or voice/data, it doesn't make the switch fast enough while I am at work at calls end up going directly to voicemail and never even ring through (it's my office location) so the fix for that was to turn lte off completely. So my lte is already off, and I still get the texting issue.
