Thumbnail issues after Final Cut Pro 10.2.2 update

I updated FCP yesterday and ever since the thumbnails of my videos are solid green. Playing the video in thumbnail mode results in solid green with normal audio playback. At first, the rendered videos were green as well, but I rebooted the whole system and tried again, resulting in normal video but the thumbnail is still broken.

Anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks for your help, in advance.

Here's what I got:

Yeah. This is happening to me, too. When I export .MP4 files from FCPX, after the update, SOME of the thumbnails are green when looking at them in finder. I've only done some SD videos, since then, for a client. The files themselves don't have a green frame, and as you can see, in SD they are green lines, not necessarily totally green frames. I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 on a LATE 2011 Macbook pro with 16gb RAM. Running FCPX 10.2.2. Also, it's probably useful to know that I store, edit, etc my video clips (raw and edited) and event files on an external drive with a Thunderbolt connection. I've never had this problem before.User uploaded file

My work and storage flow is the same as yours except my external drive is connected USB for now. Personally after all the discussion and help from the forum, I'm certain this is an OS issue, not FCP at all. Something to do with the OS or the ProVideo update now unable to read the MP4 format to create the thumbnail. I don't have the problem with .mov files, and as I said above, they are smaller files and look better (I think). I think Apple will work it out in due time, right?
