Verification failed : There was an error connecting to apple id server
After updating to iOS9 I can not sign into iCloud and restore my backup. Now I do not have access to anything on my iPad air. Any way to fix this?

This what I did to get it working:
Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
Once it restarts, just re-input your wifi password. Go back into Settings and check ITunes & App Store, FaceTime, and iCloud to make sure that your Apple accounts are signed in.
Not sure what causes it but each time it does, I've reset the network settings and it resolves the issue.
For anyone who still has this problem, and has tried all methods but has the phone brand new and cant sign in to start with... Turn off Wifi and use mobile data. Only thing that worked for me!
I tried this, but it isnt letting me do step 4 as it will not let me sign back in due to it 'not being able to reach apple id servers'
after activate the screen lock,I entered the Apple ID accepeted.after that i go to Apple Store connot connect to Apple Stor.
There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server
Please help me
Thank you, this just helped me solve this issue!
This totally works.
Thanks!
Thanks Grant...This is was very helpful. Checked all options and this option worked like a charm. Always helps to cover the basics checklist first.
Nope, it didnt work, which is really strange
Yes, same solution I had. Make 100% certain your wireless is ON.
Check if the date and time on your device are still correct. I had not used my iPhone for several months and after updating date and time I could connect again to the iCloud server.
I'm having the same issue
Think I know the problem. Connect to wifi then it the error message will go away and you can sign in to iCloud or your account.
Why does my iPad apple say verification failed there was an error connecting to the Apple ID server when I try and log my self in face time I have done everythink and it's not working
I have the same problem and tried your solution and that didn't work either. 😟 Bummer
